Eupithecia despectaria Lederer, 1853

This Central Asian species was described from “Siberia” without details of the actual type locality. It is known from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, China (Xinjiang) and Southern Siberia (Altai Mts. and Sajan Mts.: Tuva). It was recorded for Mongolia by Viidalepp (1975) on the basis of a single male (without abdomen) captured in Gobi-Altai. The type specimen was illustrated by Dietze (1904, 1910). The female genitalia were briefly described and illustrated in Viidalepp (1988). Mongolia: Bayan-Khongor aimag.
