Tenuidactylus Szczerbak & Golubev, 1984

Although described as a separate genus, it was for long treated as a subgenus of Cyrtopodion (Böhme 1985; Anderson 1999; Sindaco & Jeremčenko 2008). Recent phylogenetic studies show the distinctness of Tenuidactylus and prove its genus level is justified (Gamble et al. 2012; Bauer et al. 2013). However, its phylogenetic position with respect to Cyrtopodion has not been satisfactorily resolved. Červenka et al. (2008) and Pyron et al. (2013) placed it between the agamuroides and scabrum groups of Cyrtopodion, thus rendering Cyrtopodion paraphyletic.
