Residual syntype:— BRAZIL: S„o Paulo, Corumbatahy, mata virgem, beira água, without collector, number and date, (SP (SP8775) [SP000051]) .

Notes:—Edgar Irmscher (1953) described Begonia juliana based on two collections (syntypes) without collector and number; one collected from Corumbataí [“Corumbatahy”] in the Sao Paulo herbarium and a second cultivated specimen in the Berlin herbarium. The Berlin specimen is designated as the lectotype here.
