Taphura dolabella Sanborn, 2017 new record

Taphura dolabella Sanborn 2017: 467 (Agrotec/Cerr. Strictu sensu, Diorama, Goias, Brazil).

Remarks. The species has very distinctive male genitalia with the claspers shaped like a pickax (Sanborn 2017).

Distribution. The species has been reported previously only from the type series collected in Goias, Brazil (Sanborn 2017).

Material examined for new record. “ FRENCH GUIANA:/ Macouria Commune Savane, One Mark, 4º56’22.6N / 52º28’58.8”W, 30-I-2021 / Malaise Trap, ZNIEFF, / DEAL GUYANE, SEAG leg.” one male (AFSC).
