Europe, North Africa, Russia (to Far East), Azerbaijan, Turkey, Syria, Israel, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, North China (Niu et al. 2020; Kasparek 2022).</p><p>Remark. The species’ status is currently unclear. The validity of Anthidium nigrinum Morawitz, 1875 and A. senile Eversmann, 1852 is yet to be verified.</p><p>The holotype of A. nigrinum was borrowed by van der Zanden in April 1992 (as indicated in the box containing Fedtschenko’s types). In the paper on new synonymy in the Megachilidae (Zanden 1995), he references the original labels of this holotype, confirming that he possesses the specimen. Following van der Zanden’s death, his collection was donated to the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden (the Netherlands). Specimens bear a small label stating “from the collection of van der Zanden”.
