D06EF633FFC5743AFF2319389B817CE6.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Antennal scape less than 1.5 times longer than the pedicel; antennal club robust and roundly separated from the preceding flagellomeres; forewing can be folded longitudinally in rest and in death; metasoma with sharply produced lateral margins of terga forming more or less developed teeth; metasomal sterna rather flat; imagines able to roll up in the same manner as cuckoo wasps (Chrysididae) (Richards 1962; Gess & Gess 2010; Fateryga 2025 c). Number of species and distribution. The genus has a disjunct distribution with 20 species occurring in the semi-arid to arid areas in the southwest of the Afrotropical region (Gess & Gess 2010, although they claimed to report 21 species, their list contained 20 valid species and one synonym) and 46 species in the Palaearctic and adjacent dry areas in the north of the Afrotropical region (according to the list of Carpenter 2001, combined with newly described or synonymized species by Gusenleitner 2002, 2007, 2012, 2018; Mauss 2013; Mauss et al. 2016, 2022 a; Mauss & Prosi 2018; Fateryga & Fadeev 2023; Fateryga 2025 b; Fateryga et al. 2025; Mauss et al. 2026; present contribution).	en	Fateryga, Alexander V. D06EF633FFC0743CFF231E9D99AA7852.taxon	distribution	Distribution. Russia (Altai Republic), Mongolia. Trophic relationships. Celonites kozlovi is a polylectic species in the narrow sense (sensu Müller & Kuhlmann 2008), collecting pollen from flowers of plants belonging to at least five families (with the predomination of Asteraceae and Lamiaceae) and using diverse methods for both pollen and nectar uptake. Females consume pollen directly from the anthers with the mouthparts and the foretarsi. In addition, this species can be a secondary nectar robber (sensu Inouye 1980) that was never observed in other species of Masarinae. Morphological and behavioral adaptations of C. kozlovi for pollen uptake from flowers were described in detail by Fateryga (2020) and Fateryga et al. (2023). Flower-visiting records (all in the Altai Republic of Russia): Aster alpinus L., Crepidiastrum tenuifolium (Willd.) Sennikov (≡ Youngia tenuifolia subsp. altaica Babc. & Stebbins), Klasea marginata (Tausch) Kitag., Pseudopodospermum pubescens (DC.) Zaika, Sukhor. & N. Kilian, Saussurea pricei N. D. D06EF633FFCF7433FF231D549B567862.taxon	discussion	Trophic relationships. A series of females of this species was probably collected at flowers of Dracocephalum sp. (Lamiaceae). Despite three plant species were indicated simultaneously on the labels, two others are hardly probable, while species of the genus Dracocephalum are a known pollen source for two other more or less closely related species of the genus Celonites (Fateryga 2020; Fateryga et al. 2023). Remarks. The species is closely related to Celonites octoannulatus (Kuznetzov, 1923). To verify the taxonomic independence of C. modestus, males of this species should be collected and compared with those of C. octoannulatus.	en	Fateryga, Alexander V. D06EF633FFCF7434FF2318A99E6D7AD0.taxon	discussion	Trophic relationships. Celonites montanus is broadly oligolectic (sensu Müller & Kuhlmann 2008) on Lamiaceae. Females take up pollen with pollen-collecting setae on the frontal surface of the head, by rubbing it over the nototribic anthers; rubbing movements are alternated with pollen brushing from the head with the foretarsi, from which the pollen is finally consumed with the mouthparts (Fateryga 2025 a). Flower-visiting records: Convolvulus fruticosus Pall. (Convolvulaceae) in Kazakhstan; Lagochilus diacanthophyllus (Pall.) Benth., L. platyacanthus Rupr., and Ziziphora tenuior L. (all Lamiaceae) in Kazakhstan; Moluccella olgae (Regel) Ryding (≡ Otostegia olgae (Regel) Korsh., Lamiaceae) in Kyrgyzstan (Fateryga & Fadeev 2023; Fateryga 2025 a).	en	Fateryga, Alexander V. D06EF633FFC87437FF231B309F177FCC.taxon	discussion	Trophic relationships. Popov (1948) reported this species collected in Tajikistan at flowers of Anchusa azurea (Boraginaceae). Remarks. Identification of the specimens from Kyrgyzstan is preliminary and requires further confirmation. They differ from specimens from both Tajikistan and Uzbekistan by completely black dorsal mesepisternum and scutellum (like in C. modestus). At the same time, specimens from Kyrgyzstan have completely orange antenna, similarly to those from Uzbekistan, while specimens of both C. octoannulatus and C. modestus from Tajikistan have the antenna always significantly darkened dorsally. Males of C. octoannulatus from Kyrgyzstan, as well as males of C. modestus should be collected and compared with those of C. octoannulatus from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The available male from Kyrgyzstan (from CSZT) is lacking the genitalia. When I received the material, female genitalia were glued to a piece of cartoon and pinned under this male specimen, while the female from the same series was without genitalia. It is obvious that the genitalia had been extracted by somebody from both specimens from CSZT but the male’s ones were lost and the female’s ones were pinned under the male specimen by a mistake.	en	Fateryga, Alexander V. D06EF633FFCB7429FF231A959F127DD4.taxon	discussion	Trophic relationships. Celonites sibiricus is broadly oligolectic (sensu Müller & Kuhlmann 2008), predominantly collecting pollen from flowers of Lamiaceae. Morphological and behavioral adaptations of C. sibiricus for pollen uptake from flowers were described in detail by Fateryga (2020) and Fateryga et al. (2023). Females take up pollen with pollen-collecting setae on the frontal surface of the head, by rubbing it over the nototribic anthers; rubbing movements are alternated with pollen brushing from the head with the foretarsi, from which the pollen is finally consumed with the mouthparts. Flower-visiting records (all in the Altai Republic of Russia): Taraxacum sp. (Asteraceae); Sisymbrium polymorphum (Brassicaceae); Dianthus chinensis L. and Gypsophila patrinii (both Caryophyllaceae); Geranium sibiricum L. (Geraniaceae); Dracocephalum peregrinum, D. nutans L., and Ziziphora clinopodioides (all Lamiaceae); Potentilla sericea L. (Rosaceae) (Fateryga 2020; Fateryga et al. 2023).	en	Fateryga, Alexander V. D06EF633FFD5742AFF231A349ADF7CC8.taxon	discussion	Trophic relationships. Celonites tristiculus is probably polylectic or at most eclectically oligolectic. Females collect pollen (but not nectar) from flowers of Allium caricifolium Kar. & Kir. (Amaryllidaceae), consuming it directly from the anthers with the mouthparts and the foretarsi. At the same time, they collect nectar mainly from flowers of Ziziphora tenuior (Lamiaceae), which are hardly used for pollen uptake. Flower-visiting records (all in Kazakhstan): Allium caricifolium (Amaryllidaceae); Nepeta micrantha Bunge and Ziziphora tenuior (both Lamiaceae) (Fateryga 2025 a); Orobanche amoena C. A. Mey. (Orobanchaceae) (new record). The record of this species at O. amoena is apparently the first documented report of a pollen wasp visiting flowers of holoparasitic plants in the family Orobanchaceae. However, it was not documented whether C. tristiculus collected pollen or nectar (or both) at this plant. Although a few flowering individuals of O. amoena were present at the locality where the foraging behavior of C. tristiculus was studied (Fateryga 2025 a), I did not observe this wasp species visiting them.	en	Fateryga, Alexander V.
