M 107) to 18.6 % ( Mundochthonius sp. M 034) (Table 1). This species is most similar to Mundochthonius bifurcatus Kim & Hong, 1994 in the carapacal chaetotaxy (6-4 - 4 - 2 - 2, a total of 18 setae in both species), obscure eyes, and the length of the pedipalpal femur (0.30–0.32 mm in M. tsushimaensis sp. nov. vs 0.35–0.38 mm in M. bifurcatus). However, they can be distinguished by the number of setae on the cheliceral palm (five in M. tsushimaensis sp. nov. vs six in M. bifurcatus). This species also resembles M. japonicus japonicus by the obscure eyes and the L / W ratio of pedipalpal femur (3.2–3.4 × in M. tsushimaensis sp. nov. vs 3.2 × in M. japonicus japonicus). However, they can be distinguished by the number of setae on the cheliceral palm (five in M. tsushimaensis sp. nov. vs six in M. japonicus japonicus) and the carapacal chaetotaxy (4-4 - 4 - 2 - 2, a total of 16 setae in M. japonicus japonicus).

Distribution data (Fig. 4 F).

This species was recorded at three sites in the northern region of Tsushima Island, Japan. Each site is heavily forested and consistently wet (annual rainfall> 2,100 mm) (Fig. 1 C, D). It appears to be endemic to Tsushima Island, and there are no records from the Japanese mainland or the Korean Peninsula

Description.

Three adults (Figs 3, 4).

Cephalothorax (Fig. 4 A, B). Eyes obscure. Carapace rectangular and with 18 setae in five rows: 6-4 - 4 - 2 - 2; epistome serrate and dentate, with eight to nine points. Coxal spines on leg II only, with a single serrated blade; 19–20 sharp and long spines on the blade. Small bisetose intercoxal tubercle present.

Chelicera (Fig. 4 C). Five setae on the cheliceral palm, one seta on the middle of movable finger. Five lyrifissures on the cheliceral palm. 15–16 marginal teeth on the fixed finger, 9–11 marginal teeth on the movable finger. Galea on the movable finger present but inconspicuous. Rallum with 11–12 blades. Serrula exterior with 15–16 blades.

Pedipalp (Fig. 4 D – F). Fixed finger with eight trichobothria, movable finger with four trichobothria; ib and isb situated on dorsum of chelal hand; ist, esb, and eb at the base of fixed finger; est and it on the middle of fixed finger; et and xs near the tip of fixed finger; b on dorsum of movable finger, t on the middle of movable finger, sb positioned between b and t; st slightly near to t than sb. Six lyrifissures on the fixed finger. Fixed finger with 55–58, movable finger with 50–52 small and contiguous marginal teeth.

Measurement (in mm). Holotype.
