The new species is morphologically similar to Hyleoglomeris bicolor (from Hong Kong) and H. tiani (from Hunan), as they share relatively erect telopods. However, in addition to having more strictly erect telopods, the new species can be distinguished from H. tiani by male legs 17 having four podomeres (vs. three in H. tiani), a stout femoral trichostele (vs. slender), a digitiform femoral process (vs. broad), and a short, small tibial process (vs. slender and directed mesally). Furthermore, it differs from H. bicolor by having a slightly concave syncoxial notch on male legs 18 (vs. distinctly concave in H. bicolor), a mesally directed prefemoral trichostele (vs. directed distally), a femoral trichostele slightly larger than the femoral process (vs. distinctly smaller), a distally directed tibial process (vs. directed mesally), and by lacking a small microsetose tubercle on the tibia (vs. present in H. bicolor).

Description.

Holotype length ca. 15.9 mm, width of thoracic shield ca. 7.1 mm. Paratypes length ca. 14.9–20.0 mm (males), 15.7–27.4 mm (females); width 7.6–11.1 mm (males), 7.8–12.9 mm (females).

Head brownish-black, labrum yellow. Collum brownish-black, central area covered with minute, dense yellow spots. Thoracic shield yellow, with a central X-shaped brownish-black pattern. Remaining terga brownish-black with a yellow central dorsal line; lateral sides with irregular yellow patterns; anterior margin of lateral wings yellow. Anal shield yellow, anterolateral margins brownish-black. Antennae brown, legs yellowish-brown (Fig. 3).

Ocelli 6 (9) + 1, lenses convex, black. Tömösváry organ transverse strongly horseshoe-shaped, ca 1.3 times as long as broad. Antenna clavate, antennomere 6 largest and longest, ca. 1.6 times long as wide. Antennal tip with four apical sensory cones.

Collum with two transverse striae. Thoracic shield with a narrow hyposchism, not reaching to caudal margin, with 5–12 indistinct striae. Other terga normal. Pygidium rounded, slightly concave medio-caudally.

Male legs 17 (Figs 4 A, 5 A) strongly reduced, with 4 podomeres and a high, regularly rounded outer coxal lobe. Male legs 18 (Figs 4 B, 5 B) reduced, with 4 podomeres and a simple V-shaped syncoxial notch.

Telopods (Figs 4 C, 4 D, 5 C, 5 D) with a broad and roundly trapeziform syncoxital lobe (sl) flanked by two spiniform syncoxital horns (sh), longer than syncoxial lobe. Telopodite 4 - segmented. Prefemur stout, with a trichostele (pft) distomesially. Femur with a mesial trichostele (ft) and a digitiform process (fp) distoposteriorly reaching beyond half of tibia. Tibia swollen mesally, with a small, rounded process (tip) distoposteriorly. Tarsus subcylindrical and straight, with a distal seta.

Females similar to males in external characters.

Etymology.

The specific epithet means “ erect ”, referring to the distal segment of the telopod being erect, unlike other species in the genus where it typically curves inwards in a pincer-like shape.

Distribution.

Known only from the type locality.

Remarks.

Golovatch et al. (2010) reviewed the Glomerida of Taiwan, recording four species of the genus Hyleoglomeris, three of which were described as new. Golovatch et al. (2012) revised the Hyleoglomeris species of mainland China, including 23 species. Subsequently, Liu and Tian (2015) provided a checklist of the genus from mainland China and described seven new species, while Liu and Wynne (2019) described two additional species from Guangxi. To date, 36 species of Hyleoglomeris have been recorded from China. The new species described herein represents the 37 th species recorded in China and the 11 th species known from Guizhou Province.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/702CA5765F0B543F879BB3775C7D1415	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. While widespread in southern China (Golovatch 2020 a, 2020 b), Kronopolites biagrilectus has been recorded only in Jiangxi, Sichuan, and Yunnan. This study marks its first record from Guizhou Province. Notably, compared to specimens from Jiangxi (Hoffman 1962) and Yunnan (Golovatch 2017), the species (Fig. 9) exhibits a certain degree of morphological variation among different populations, particularly in the length and curvature of processes a and b as well as the solenophore. This suggests that future molecular investigations are required to ascertain the possible existence of cryptic diversity.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/67377A60F316568B84925B7E11D0F7AB	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Paratypes: • 6 males and 6 females, same data as holotype .

Diagnosis.

Male of this species is distinguished from its congeners by the swollen femorite of the gonopod, the short and slightly bifid solenophore, the shapes of the processes a and b and the swollen male leg 10 femora. This species closely resembles Sellanucheza hoffmani Nguyen, 2011 from Vietnam in its external characteristics and the general arrangement of gonopodal processes; however, it differs in possessing a swollen gonopodal femorite, an erect and spine-like process b (vs. slightly curved in S. hoffmani), and process a being broad and laminate at the tip (vs. spine-like in S. hoffmani). Among the species recorded from China, the new species can be distinguished from S. jaegeri Golovatch, 2013 (from Shaanxi and Chongqing) by its swollen femorite (vs. normal in S. jaegeri), a very shortly bifid solenophore tip (vs. deeply bifid), and processes a and b directed basally (vs. directed distally). Furthermore, it differs from S. tenebra (Hoffman, 1961) and S. typica Golovatch, 2013 (both from Sichuan) not only by its swollen femorite but also by its relatively shorter solenophore, which is extremely long and coiled into a circular shape in the latter two species.

Description.

Holotype length 26.5 mm, width 3.0 mm. Paratypes length 27.9–30.8 mm (males), 30.9–38.9 mm (females); width 2.9–3.2 mm (males), 3.9–4.0 mm (females).

Head brown, labrum and antennal sockets pale yellow. Collum brown with pale margins. Venter of remaining segments pale yellow; dorsum brown. Metaterga with a wide, pale transverse band in the middle, extending laterally across the paraterga. Antennae pale brown, with antennomeres 6 and 7 darker. Legs yellow (Fig. 11 A).

Labrum densely setose. Frons slightly convex. Epicranial suture distinct. Antennae slender, claviform, relatively long, reaching approximately to end of body ring 4 when stretched posteriorly. Antennomere lengths: 7 ≈ 1 << 2 ≈ 3 ≈ 4 ≈ 5 ≈ 6. Head width <segment 3 <4 <collum <2 <5–17.

Collum smooth, with traces of a row of 3 + 3 setae near anterior margin. Axial line distinct. Paraterga of collum modestly developed, sub-semicircular.

Tegument smooth and shining (Fig. 11 A). Metaterga without traces of setae. Metatergal transverse sulcus present from body ring 4, well-developed from body ring 5. Paraterga keel-like; poorly developed on body rings 5–19, but modestly developed on body rings 2–3. Ozopore formula normal; pores located on the lateral sides of paraterga. Axial line thin and indistinct. Stricture dividing pro- and metazonae thin, narrow, and striolate. Sterna sparsely setose, without modifications, except for two separate, small, setiferous cones between male coxae 4. Epiproct short, with two small caudolateral tubercles; tip with four spinneret cones. Hypoproct subtriangular with two distolateral setae. Legs setose, slender, longer than body height. Male leg 10 femora swollen. Tarsal brushes present on all legs, becoming sparser on last two segments.

Coxa of gonopods (Figs 11 B – D, 12 A – C) slightly swollen subapically, sparsely setose distodorsally. Prefemur densely setose, short, about 1 / 4 as long as the acropodite. Femorite (fe) stout, curved dorsally, and swollen medially. Demarcation between femorite and postfemoral region indistinct. Solenophore (sph) with a lamellar process (a) and a spine-like process (b) at the base, both pointing ventrally. Tip of solenophore slightly bifid. Seminal groove running entirely on the mesal side. Solenomere (sl) flagelliform, sheathed by the solenophore.

Females similar to males except for a slightly larger and stouter body and proportionally shorter legs.

Etymology.

The specific epithet tumida is derived from the Latin tumidus, meaning “ swollen ”, and refers to the swollen femorite of the gonopod.

Distribution.

Known only from the type locality.

Remarks.

This genus belongs to the tribe Sulciferini and currently comprises six species known from China and Vietnam (Golovatch 2013 b; Nguyen and Sierwald 2013). Three species have been recorded in China, distributed in Shaanxi, Chongqing, and Sichuan. The new species represents the first record of this genus from Guizhou Province.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/C13A0EFB95D95F00AF25E32751A33476	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. In China, nine species have been recorded in Guangxi, Yunnan and Chongqing. A key to all Chinese species of this genus can be found in Likhitrakarn et al. 2025.

The type-locality of Tylopus nigromarginatus is in Mt. Jinyun, Chongqing. This is the first record of the species after the original description, and the new record of this genus in Guizhou. Specimens from Chishui (Figs 13, 14) agree morphologically with the original description except for their coloration. The holotype was described as being nearly completely pallid, with only the head light yellowish and the collum and segments 2 and 3 light grey, the collum and subsequent metazonae with narrow but contrasting blackish caudal margins. In contrast, the Chishui specimens possess a dark brown head and collum, while the remaining metaterga are pale yellow; each metatergum is marked with a wing-shaped brown patch along the anterior margin which is narrow medially and broadens laterally, extending to the bases of the paraterga.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/EF1AF253C06E545CACE4061F8D79DD95	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
