CB4B87A6FFD1370B2E85E4A7D095D1CA.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. — Medium sized annual fish, with relatively deep body and males with thin black stripes over pale brown body. One or two black dots on the caudal peduncle in both sexes. The dorsal and anal fin of males with a black blotch on the distal portion of their last rays (fig. 3 B) bordered anteriorly by a small light blue margin. Small vertical yellowish light-blue stripes in the proximal half of the dorsal fin of males. The anal fin of females triangular-shaped with dark vertical stripes between rays, in the proximal 3 / 4 of the fin (fig. 3 A). The ratio between longest anal ray / anal fin base length is 0.96 (mean). The pectoral fin of males with a black margin in the low and posterior edge, females may present this margin but always less intensely pigmented than males. Pelvic fins in both sexes united by their inner edge.	en	Lourerio, Marcelo, Garcia, Graciela (2004): Cynolebıas reıchertí, a New Annual Fish Species (Rıvulıdae: Cynolebıatınae) From Southern Laguna Merin Basın. CB4B87A6FFD1370B2E85E4A7D095D1CA.taxon	description	Description. - Morphometric and meristic data are given in tables 1 and 2, respectively. Dorsal profile convex from mouth to end of dorsal fin; caudal peduncle straight. Ventral profile from mouth to opercular opening straight, making a 45 degree angle with main body axis, and slightly convex from that point to end of anal fin; caudal peduncle straight. Posterior and distal vertex of dorsal and anal fin in males approximately rounded; posterior edge of anal fin indented, making a 90 degree angle with main body axis. Dorsal fin origin in males approximately at midbody, second proximal radial of fin inserted at the level of vertical line of vertebrae 6 - 10; in females, dorsal origin behind midbody, second proximal radial reaching vertebrae 8 to 12. In both sexes anal fin origin behind dorsal fin origin; in males, between dorsal fin rays 2 - 4 and in females, between dorsal fin rays 2 - 5; anal fin of females triangular. Ratio longest anal ray / anal fin base length between 0.87 and 1.06 (mean = 0.96). Caudal fin rounded; pectoral fin elliptic. Distal end of pectoral fin reaching the vertical line between fourth and fifth anal rays in males; tip of pectoral fin placed between the urogenital papilla and anal fin origin in females. Posterior end of pelvic fin in males reaching the vertical line between anal fin rays 2 - 5 and between anal fin rays 1 - 2 in females. Base of both pelvic fins forming an acute angle in ventral view. Both fins joined each other by their inner edge, only in proximal half or along the whole edge. One to four small epithelial contact organs occurring in first, second and third pectoral rays of males. When present, those structures appearing on distal and inner portion of rays. Pectoral girdle with three bony radials. Dorsal fin with 20 - 23 rays in males and 15 - 19 rays in females; anal fin with 20 - 25 rays in males and 18 - 23 rays in females; caudal fin bearing 18 - 24 rays; pectoral fin with 11 - 13 rays: pelvic fin with 4 - 6 rays. Number of vertebrae 27 - 30, precaudal vertebrae 11 - 14, caudal vertebrae 15 - 17. Caudal fin skeleton bearing hypural plate plus the neural and hemal spines of last two or three vertebrae. Canine like teeth in three irregular rows in premaxilla and dentary bones, larger teeth in anterior series of both bones. Those of premaxilla pointing anteriorly. Scales cycloid. Sometimes males with small and cteni-like structure in distal and medial region of some abdominal scales (fig. 3 C). These scales present in lateral and anterior area of body below pectoral fin, above anal fin and / or ventral and anterior region of caudal peduncle. Number of scales in horizontal series 27 - 34, in vertical series 11 - 14, around caudal peduncle 14 - 21. Total number of supra-orbital neuromasts 15 - 26. Coloration in life Males. - Pale brown body with 6 to 12 black vertical stripes, the width of each stripe half of the width of interstripe space. In 45 % of the specimens, one or two black dots on caudal peduncle. When two dots are present, they are placed in vertical way. Yellowish light blue belly. Light blue opercular region. Yellowish iris. Black sub and supra ocular stripes. The sub-ocular stripe reaches the lower jaw and ventrally points posteriorly. The supraocular stripe reaches the parietal series of neuromasts. Dark gray dorsal fin, the vertical stripes on it yellowish light blue. One black intense vertical blotch on the posterior edge, the anterior edge of this blotch light blue. Light blue anal fin with black blotch similar to that observed on the dorsal fin. Gray brown caudal fin, with pigmentation decreasing in intensity to the posterior edge. Hyaline pectoral fin with the inferior and posterior edges black intense. Light blue pelvic fin. Females. — Brown body with scattered rounded to stripe-like spots of the same color but more intense. Caudal peduncle with one or two black dots, with the same disposition that appears in males. In 21.4 % of the analyzed specimens there are no dots. The light brown sub ocular stripe does not reach the lower jaw. The supra ocular stripe is absent. All fins hyaline. The dorsal fin with dark brown vertical stripes between rays in the basal half; a similar pattern can be found in the distal half; however many individuals present brown spots of irregular shape. The anal fin with brown vertical stripes in the basal 3 / 4 of the fin between rays. The pectoral fin with a black edge similar to males, however less intense.	en	Lourerio, Marcelo, Garcia, Graciela (2004): Cynolebıas reıchertí, a New Annual Fish Species (Rıvulıdae: Cynolebıatınae) From Southern Laguna Merin Basın. CB4B87A6FFD1370B2E85E4A7D095D1CA.taxon	discussion	Amplification of molecular diagnostic makers. — Amplification of genomic DNA from 20 individuals belonging to fourteen populations of Cynolebias with six of the decanucleotides tested, generated 61 clear polymorphic bands (RAPD markers). These amplification patterns were routinely repeatable and therefore used in the analyses. Table III shows seven specific polymorphic RAPD markers which occurred with different frequencies among taxa sampled. Combination of these markers resulted in a good diagnosis for each group. Somatic karyotypes. — Figure 4 shows the mitotic metaphase with 2 n = 48, NF 52; their chromosome formula is: two pairs of SM chromosomes, eight pairs of ST chromosomes and fourteen pairs of chromosomes of Acrocentric type.	en	Lourerio, Marcelo, Garcia, Graciela (2004): Cynolebıas reıchertí, a New Annual Fish Species (Rıvulıdae: Cynolebıatınae) From Southern Laguna Merin Basın.
