C30B1D14FFE70F68FF61BA0D4F76A1C1.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. The male described above is closely resemble to the female M. flavicolor. It is here concluded to be a previously undescribed male of M. flavicolor, based on its overall greenish yellow appearance (entire yellow face, yellow legs), uniquely shaped dorsal ‘ H’ shaped marking on synthorax and a lateral narrow black stripe along metapleural suture, and yellow abdominal segments with broad black apical rings. Although, no interaction (mating) was observed between the male and female, the undescribed male was observed together with the two females of M. flavicolor within a small area of 10 m 2. Moreover, no other Megalogomphus species have been reported from the area. Additional differences of the male to the other species of Megalogomphus are indicated as follows: Both the males and females of M. flavicolor can be easily distinguished from its Indian congeners by having overall greenish yellow to yellow appearance. Face entirely yellow without black markings in M. flavicolor (face largely black with yellow makings in M. bicornutus, M. hannyngtoni, M. smithii and M. superbus). In M. flavicolor legs largely yellow, while legs are black in M. bicornutus, M. hannyngtoni and M. superbus, and in M. smithii legs are black marked with yellow. In M. flavicolor thorax with uniquely shaped dorsal stripe on synthorax dorsally looks ‘ H’ shaped marking (in M. bicornutus antehumeral stripe confluent with the incomplete mesothoracic collar, in M. hannyngtoni humeral stripe separated from the incomplete mesothoracic collar, in M. smithii mesothoracic collar complete and confluent with the antehumeral stripe, and in M. superbus antehumeral stripe connected to the incomplete mesothoracic collar). In M. flavicolor the lateral black stripe on thorax along metapleural suture narrow, not invading metathoracic spiracle (lateral black stripe on thorax along metapleural suture very broad, invading completely metathoracic spiracle and enclosed yellow spots below and above in M. bicornutus, M. hannyngtoni, M. smithii and M. superbus). In M. flavicolor, S 3 – 6 with broad black apical rings (in M. bicornutus S 3 – 6 with semilunular basal yellow spots, S 3 – 6 with a chain of dorsal yellow spots in M. hannyngtoni, S 3 – 6 with baso-dorsal broad yellow spots in M. smithii and in M. superbus S 3 – 6 bright reddish brown). In M. flavicolor, S 8 – 9 with black apical ring extended along the middorsal carina up to the base of the segment and S 10 with two small basal triangular spots and minute obscured spots on dorsum (in in M. bicornutus S 8 – 10 entirely black, in M. hannyngtoni S 8 – 9 with small baso-lateral triangular spots and S 10 entirely black, in M. smithii S 8 – 9 with basolateral elongated yellow spots and S 10 entirely black, in M. superbus S 8 – 9 reddish brown with large baso-lateral yellow spots and S 10 reddish brown). In M. flavicolor apex of the epiproct diverges into two equal branches, outer branch directed outwardly and upwardly, inner branch directed inwardly and upwardly (apex of the epiproct bifurcate, but the inner branch very small compare to outer branch, resembles tooth like process in M. hannyngtoni, M. smithii and M. superbus).	en	Payra, Arajush, Philip, Joel George, Islam, Nazrul, Mardi, Saurabh, Barman, Rathin, Deka, Sanatan, Koparde, Pankaj (2026): First description of the male Megalogomphus flavicolor (Fraser, 1923) from the fringe of Raimona National Park, Assam, India (Odonata: Gomphidae). C30B1D14FFE70F68FF61BA0D4F76A1C1.taxon	biology_ecology	Habits and Habitat. On 5 June 2025, a female M. flavicolor and an unknown male were observed near a small stream at the Kachugaon area, on the fringe of Raimona National Park, Assam, Northeast India. The stream was surrounded by agricultural fields. Both individuals were perched on small shrubs, close to the ground (about 1 foot above the ground). Later, a female M. flavicolor was observed and photographed on 10 June 2025, near a stream of Mahamaya Mandir, Kachugaon (26.5615 ° N, 90.0805 ° E, 77 m a. s. l.). Both the males and females were seen near the open stream, with stream periphery vegetation mostly consisting of tall grasses and shrubs, amid agricultural fields (Figure 5).	en	Payra, Arajush, Philip, Joel George, Islam, Nazrul, Mardi, Saurabh, Barman, Rathin, Deka, Sanatan, Koparde, Pankaj (2026): First description of the male Megalogomphus flavicolor (Fraser, 1923) from the fringe of Raimona National Park, Assam, India (Odonata: Gomphidae).
