Length of male 3.5–3.7 mm. Body yellowish to brown (Figs 1, 2). Anterior margin of crown, thorax, and forewing with black spots or patches (Fig. 3); face brownish, anterior margin with two pairs of spots, posterior margin and two sides of frontoclypeus blackish, anteclypeus with black median area (Fig. 4). Crown produced medially, distinctly shorter than interocular width (Fig. 3); width of crown equal to pronotum in size (Fig. 3).

Male genitalia. Pygofer narrowed distally, without appendage and few setae on caudal margin, basal angle and median lobe with approximately 10 macrosetae (Fig. 17). Subgenital plate with slightly curved inside on apex, with one macrosetae basally and row of microsetae on outer margin (Figs 17, 19). Style elongate, abruptly curved laterad near apex, without subapical tooth, with a row of fine setae on outer margin, few apophysis on inner margin (Fig. 20). Connective Y–shaped, lateral ledges developed, central rib not exceeding central lobe (Fig. 20). Aedeagus with dorsal apodeme more developed than preatrium, aedeagal shaft broad basally, abruptly narrowed on anterior margin preapically in lateral view, with distal processes nearly equal in size, arising near apex and curved posteromesad, crossing each other, gonopore terminal (Figs 21–23).

Etymology. This species is named in honor of the leafhopper taxonomist, Zizhong Li.

Materal examined. Holotype: 1♂, CHINA, Yunnan Province, Ailao Shan National Nature Reserve, 8 May 2015, coll. Bin Yan. Paratypes: 2♂♂, same data as the holotype .

Remarks. This species is similar to Opamata novembris, but differs in having the crown with four black patches; the paramere abruptly curved laterad preapically; and the aedeagal shaft shorter and broader in lateral view, with processes strongly curved posteromesad (Fig. 22).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/B25087CCFF8EFFBEEAF1FA0EFCB7FEB2	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. China (Hainan, Yunnan, Guangxi), Vietnam.

Mitogenome of Opamata lipcowa

The total length of the mitogenome sequence of O. lipcowa was 14,842 bp, including 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes, and a 576-bp-long AT-rich region (Fig S1; Table S1). Most PCGs except ATP8 and ND5 using TTG had typical ATN start codons, and terminated with TAA/TAG or a single T residue (Table S1). The gene arrangement of O. lipcowa is consistent with other microleafhopper mitogenomes (Yan et al., 2022; Zhou et al., 2023). The complete mitochondrial genome was found to have the following overall base composition: Adenine (A) accounting for 44.3%, Thymine (T) for 31.3%, Guanine (G) for 10.3%, and Cytosine (C) for 13.9% (Table S2). The AT content of PCGs, tRNAs, rRNAs and AT-rich region were 73.5%, 77.6%, 82.2%, and 88.6%, respectively (Table S2). The three most frequently used codons were UUA (L), UCA (S), and UCU (S), respectively (Fig S2; Table S3).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/B25087CCFF8BFFBEEAF1FB9CFEDEF892	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
