Body large to medium-sized, slender and elongated. Head shorter than pronotum; vertex as high as pronotum, with distinct median carina on vertex and occiput; lateral foveolae indistinct, if slightly visible, irregularly subcircular or triangular. In lateral view, frons nearly vertical; frontal ridge broad with a distinct wide longitudinal sulcus, its lateral margins distinctly constricted below median ocellus, not extending downward to clypeus. Antennae filiform, exceeding posterior margin of pronotum. Eyes oval, longitudinal diameter 1.4 times horizontal diameter, slightly shorter than subocular groove. Interocular distance 2 times width of frontal ridge between antennae. Pronotum rough, with dense granules and short carinae of varying sizes; median carina of pronotum relatively thin, distinctly incised by anterior, middle and posterior transverse sulci, without lateral carinae; prozona relatively narrow, metazona relatively broad and flat, length of metazona 1.8 times that of prozona; pronotum with distinct granules or carinae, anterior margin relatively flat, posterior margin right-angularly projecting; lateral lobes trapezoidal, upper part wider than lower part, with dense large punctures and granules, anteroventral angle obtuse and rounded, posteroventral angle rounded. Elytra well-developed, far exceeding end of hind femur; intercalary vein in median area distinct, with stridulatory pegs; hindwings broad, triangular, slightly shorter than elytra, main longitudinal veins notably thickened; width of 2nd anal lobe 1.8 times that of subsequent anal lobe, 2A1 vein distinctly thickened, 2A2 vein thin and nearly parallel to 2A1 vein. Tympanal organ well-developed, aperture subcircular; tympanal flap small, almost not covering tympanal aperture. Minimum width of median septum between mesosternal lobes 1.5 times its length. Hind femur stout, length 3.4 times width, apex without grooves or swellings, dorsal carina smooth at end, apex of inner lower genicular lobe acutely angled and projecting. Basal swelling of hind tibia smooth, outer side with 9 spines, inner side with 8 spines. Arolium small, not reaching the half of length of claws. Supra-anal plate triangular, dorsally flat, with 1 transverse ridge and 2 longitudinal ridges extending to apex. Cerci long cylindrical, straight, slightly reaching apex of supra-anal plate. Subgenital plate short conical, apex bluntly rounded. Epiphallus as shown in Fig. 1-b.

Female. Body larger and more robust than the male.Antennae just reaching the posterior margin of the pronotum. The vertical diameter of the compound eyes is shorter than the subocular groove. The length of the metazona of the pronotum is approximately 1.5 times that of the prozona. The minimum width of the median septum between the mesosternal lobes is 2.0 times its length. Elytra are shorter, not reaching the end of the hind femur, with an intercalary vein in the median intercalary area; hindwings are abbreviated, triangular, and their length exceeds half of the elytra. Ovipositor is short and thick, with the apical part hook-like, and the upper external margin of the dorsal valves is smooth. Other characters are the same as those of the male.

Coloration: Body brown. Occiput with 2 dark brown longitudinal stripes; basal 1/4 of elytra dark. Hindwings with basal part purplish red and remaining part dark brown, with indistinct boundary between the two. Hind femur with a wide yellow ring near the knees, inner and lower sides having black center and purplish red edges. Hind tibia purplish red. Tarsi pale yellowish white.

Measurements: Body length: ♂ 34-36 mm, ♀ 38-40 mm; Pronotum length: ♂ 9 mm, ♀ 10 mm; Tegmen length: ♂ 44 mm, ♀ 19 mm; Hindwing length (first anal lobe): ♂ 41 mm, ♀ 12 mm; Hind femur length: ♂ 17 mm, ♀ 15.5 mm; Hind femur width: ♂ 5 mm, ♀ 6 mm.

Etymology: The specific epithet is named after the type locality, Etuoke.

Distribution: China (Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, type locality only).

The new species is allied Bryodema kozlovi Bey-Bienko, 1930, but it differs from the latter in five characters (Table 1).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/A95E87FCFFB5FFBFFF3DFAB637D1FC07	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
