9C4687D6150E7615FF71FCCC5201CB3C.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Ptilocleptis mictlan sp. nov. can be recognized as part of the genus Ptilocelptis by having a body with moderate punctation, eyes converging below, clypeus twice as wide as long, without median depressions and a conspicuous constriction between S 1 and S 2, as well as the presence of white to yellowish tomentum, mainly on the tergites. This new species differs from others of the genus by the following combination of characters: body dark, with labrum, mandibles, antennal scapes, pedicelum, F 1 and apices of legs reddish; tarsomeres yellowish; head broader than long; scutellum bigibbous; propodeal triangle areolate and enclosed by a carina; posterior surface of propodeum with long, sparse hairs; T 1 smooth and shiny with fine punctures separated by> 3 pd; terga covered with dense, simple, whitish to yellowish pubescence. This species differs from Ptilocleptis tomentosa mainly by its smaller size (7.11 - 7.17 mm versus 9.3 - 10 mm), head broader than long, whitish pubescence covering most of the body and genital capsule with long valves (compare with figs. 1 - 3). Due to its size and head proportions, it may be confused with P. eickworti Michener, but it can be distinguished by its distribution (known from Brazil) and body coloration, especially of the legs and T 1, which are yellowish in P. eickworti and dark in P. mictlan sp. nov.	en	Quintos-Andrade, Gerardo, Valenzuela-González, Jorge E. Lower paraocular area. Integument as in clypeus except punctures irregular and poorly defined, also separated by <1 pd, but larger near toruli. Frontal area. Flat in lateral view, integument densely areolate with deep punctures separated by <0.7 pd. Vertexal area. Ocelli with IOD = 0.5 MOD, OOD = 2.5 MOD, OCD = 3 MOD; surface shiny with fine punctures separated by <0.5 pd. Genal and hypostomal areas. Genal area as wide as eye in lateral view, shiny with fine punctures separated by <1 pd; hypostomal area concave, smooth and shiny with fine punctures separated by <1.5 pd. Antennae. Scape, pedicel, and F 1 light reddish; distal flagellomeres dark; F 1 – F 2 subequal; F 3 – F 5 1.5 × longer than F 2; F 6 – F 11 1.2 × longer than F 3; F 11 with acute apex. Pronotum. Dorsal angles carinate; integument smooth and shiny, with whitish hairs and micropunctation near angles; pronotal lobe dark reddish. Mesoscutum. Slightly convex in lateral view; integument shiny, slightly rugulose, with uniform punctures of variable size separated by <1 pd. Scutellum. Length similar to that of metanotum; with a median sulcus, bigibbous; integument smooth and shiny with punctures finer than those of mesosscutum, separated by <1 pd. Metanotum. Smooth and shiny with punctures separated by <2 pd. Mesepisternum. Smooth and shiny; sutures with deep, quadrate punctures; surface with fine, irregular punctures separated by <1 pd. Metepisternum. Shiny rugulose with inconspicuous punctation. Propodeum. Propodeal triangle enclosed by a carina, with two large central areolae and three shallower, rectangular lateral areolae; posterior surface of propodeum with irregular areolae; propodeal sides rugulose with densely colliculate surface and yellowish hairs. The habitat corresponds to secondary vegetation formerly dominated by temperate cloud forest with constant precipitation (Cf) according to García (1973); biogeographically, this area belongs to the Veracruzan Province according to Morrone et al. (2022).	en	Quintos-Andrade, Gerardo, Valenzuela-González, Jorge E. (2026): A new species of the rare cleptoparasitic bee genus Ptilocleptis (Hymenoptera: Halictidae) from Mexico. 9C4687D6150C7615FF71FA16552DCCF6.taxon	discussion	New records. (Fig. 2 B, 3) This species was originally described from specimens from Costa Rica and Mexico; however, the label of the Mexican specimen lacked precise locality data. Herein, the first geographically explicit records of this species from Mexico and specifically, the first records of this species for the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Puebla are reported (Fig. 4).	en	Quintos-Andrade, Gerardo, Valenzuela-González, Jorge E.
