Fujimori, K. Seto & T. Yukawa, sp. nov. in this paper.

Etymology.

“ Reflexi- ”(Latin)= reflexed and “calyptra” (Latin) = cap referring to the reflexed form of the septal pore cap.

Description.

A dolipore septum associated with perforate septal pore caps (SPCs), the margins of which were bent outwards. Perforation of the SPCs was approximately 300 nm in diam. The SPCs ranged from 75–90 nm in thickness, constructed of three layers: two outer layers consisting of two electron-dense lines and an inner layer that formed a less electron-dense band. Hyphae mostly binucleate, rarely uninucleate, clamp connection absent, hyaline, mostly thin-walled. Forming coralloid or peloton-like hyphal structures within epidermal to cortical cells of roots and basal stems of Nervilia nipponica .

Notes.

Based on the ITS phylogeny, this lineage is expected to be rich in species. At present, detailed morphological features have been characterized only for the type species, Reflexicalyptra japonica (type I). Because physical specimens and morphological data for types II – IV are currently unavailable, further generic subdivision cannot be evaluated. Therefore, Reflexicalyptra is conservatively proposed as a comprehensive genus encompassing all clades within this lineage (types I – IV).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/7BF656B4396B5B2D8AA9CA61D88244C2	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
