The new species can be distinguished from its congeners in the male genitalia by the tegumen posterolaterally produced into a subtriangular process, the valva with a hooked, strongly sclerotized clasper, the slender costa not separated from the valva distally, and the phallus lacking a cornutus. The female genitalia of the new species are distinguished by the antrum posterolaterally produced into a digitate process curved inward, and the ductus bursae with posterior 3/4 sclerotized and anterior 1/4 membranous.

Description. Adult (Fig. 1). Wingspan 22.0−24.0 mm.

Head. Vertex rounded, white mixed with yellowish brown or dark brown. Antenna with scape dark brown, twice as long as wide; flagellum yellowish brown alternating with dark brown on dorsal surface, yellowish brown with short white ciliae on ventral surface; basal flagellomeres concave on dorsal surface in male, with two rows of short dark brown scales. Labial palpus upturned vertically over head; segment I white basally, yellowish brown distally; segment II yellowish brown, 3 times as long as segment III; segment III dark brown, short, straight.

Thorax. Mesonotum yellowish brown mixed with white; patagia yellowish brown mixed with dark brown; tegulae yellowish brown. Forewing ground color white, mixed with yellowish brown and dark brown, with longitudinal orange-yellow band above anterior margin in distal half and below posterior margin of discal cell, respectively; antemedial line white, from basal 1/3 of costal margin to basal 1/3 of dorsum, interrupted by longitudinal orange-yellow band below discal cell, narrowly edged with dark brown on outer side; discocellular spots dark brown, separated into a small spot and a large spot placed one above the other; postmedial line white, sinuate, edged with a narrow dark brown streak on inner side, edged with dark brown mixed with yellowish brown streak on outer side; terminal line dark brown, discontinuous; fringe white basally, dark brown distally. Hindwing greyish brown, fringe brown. Legs with coxae and femora white on inner surface, white mixed with dark brown on outer surface, tibiae and tarsi dark brown.

Abdomen. Each abdominal segment dark brown anteriorly, yellowish brown posteriorly. Eighth sternum convex medially on anterior margin, with a pair of filiform culcita about 4/5 length of valva.

Male genitalia (Fig. 2). Uncus subrectangular, 1.7 times as long as wide, slightly produced in triangle anterolaterally; apex obtusely rounded, with a small notch at middle. Gnathos conical, about 1/3 length of uncus, apex with a spiniform process. Tegumen widened posteriorly, produced to a large subtriangular process posterolaterally, with a denticle at middle on each side. Valva wide at base, slightly narrowed to basal 3/5, then parallel to before rounded apex, with a sclerotized lamellar process below costa that apically bears a denticle; clasper strongly sclerotized, hooked dorsad, situated at middle of valva, acute at apex; costa slender, clavate, reaching tip of costal margin of valva; sacculus elongate triangular, broad basally, narrowed distally, about 1/2 length of valva. Vinculum narrowed anteriorly, rounded on anterior margin. Juxta V-shaped; lateral lobes tapering, length nearly equal to uncus, apex acute. Phallus slender, clavate, about 4/5 length of valva, basal half wider than distal half; cornutus absent.

Female genitalia (Fig. 3). Papillae anales triangular, rounded at apex, 1.3 times as long as proximal width. Apophyses posteriores twice as long as apophyses anteriores. Eighth tergum rounded on anterior margin; eighth sternum sclerotized into a large subquadrate plate, with ridge at anterior 2/5 on each side.Antrum strongly sclerotized, funnel-shaped, produced to two large digitate processes posterolaterally, curved inward, densely covered with spinules. Ductus bursae slender, straight, posterior 3/4 sclerotized, anterior 1/4 membranous, about 3/5 length of corpus bursae. Corpus bursae ovoid, membranous; signum absent. Ductus seminalis from posterior 1/5 of corpus bursae.

Distribution. China (Xinjiang)

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin ham (hook) and clasper (clasper), referring to the hook-shaped clasper in the male genitalia of the new species.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/92081E6101468077FF53FE31FCE170A8	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
