8C7BE1229E11FFEF76F019F42A35FD2E.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. This species is similar to C. incertus by the transverse striation on metapostnotum, but in C. arcuatus sp. nov. the striae are strongly curved (Fig. 4 C) and this new species also has a strong body ornamentation (as areolate head and lineolate mesoscutum) when compared with C. incertus (more polished). It can be distinguished by both sexes having smaller size; integument color turquoise; terga with metallic area occupying only the anterior portion, with darkened area without reflexes, marginal area greenish brown (Fig. 4 C, 5 C); clypeus and supraclypeal coriaceous. Females have the clypeus apical darkened stripe occupying around one third of its area (Fig. 4 B). Males have the head wider than long (Fig. 5 B).	en	Cappola, Victor, Gonçalves, Rodrigo B. 8C7BE1229E1CFFEC76F01E812DECFB6E.taxon	discussion	Comments. Vachal (1903) described Halictus (Paragapostemon) curticeps based on a male specimen that was later included in Caenohalictus by Michener (1969 b). More recently Caenohalictus mourei was described by Almeida & Laroca (2005) based on a female. After the analysis of images of the holotype of H. curticeps and the holotype of C. mourei, they are considered as synonyms as the following characteristics are present in both sexes: antennae completely darkened; mesoscutum coriaceous anteriorly, polished elsewhere, with dense punctation, sparser on the disc; legs completely dark brown; sterna without metallic reflexes.	en	Cappola, Victor, Gonçalves, Rodrigo B. 8C7BE1229E1AFFF676F01B2D2D50F9D6.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Small species (5 – 6 mm) similar to C. tesselatus and C. leticiae sp. nov. by the rugulose metapostnotum and olivaceus green body. It can be differentiated from C. tesselatus by black scape on both sexes (Fig. 10 B, 11 B), the lack of dense, yellow branched setae on mesoscutum of females (Fig. 10 C) and S 1 with few metallic reflections. Females can be separated from C. leticiae sp. nov. by the scutellum areolate and sparsely punctate (Fig. 10 C), tarsi light brown to yellow and head as long as wide (Fig. 10 B); mesepisternum and metanotum rugulose. Males differ in having flagellomeres 2 – 11 homogeneously covered by intermixed trichodea and placodea sensillae (Fig. 1 A), mesoscutum entirely very sparsely punctate and propodeum lateral surface lineolate. The male is described here for the first time.	en	Cappola, Victor, Gonçalves, Rodrigo B. (2026): A review of Caenohalictus species from southern Brazil (Apoidea, Caenohalictini). 8C7BE1229E05FFF176F01AD82B04FD76.taxon	discussion	Comments. RBG examined the types of Halictus vallensis and Halictus cicindulus (MHNP) and the size and sculpturing pattern strongly suggests that they are conspecific. Both specimens are within the delineation of Caenohalictus incertus, so we follow the synonym proposed by Moure & Hurd (1987) for H. vallensis and proposed a new synonym with H. cicindulus.	en	Cappola, Victor, Gonçalves, Rodrigo B. 8C7BE1229E02FFFF76F01F392B79FBAF.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Small species (5 – 6 mm) similar to C. tesselatus and C. implexus by the rugulose metapostnotum and olivaceus green body. It can be differentiated from C. tesselatus by black scape on both sexes (Fig. 14 B), the lack of dense, yellow branched setae on mesoscutum of females (Fig. 14 C) and S 1 with few metallic reflections. Females are separated from C. implexus by scutellum weakly coriaceous and sparsely to densely punctate (Fig. 14 C); tarsi dark brown; head wider than long; mesepisternum and metanotum rugose. Males differ from C. implexus in having flagellomeres 2 – 11 with anterior large patches of placodea sensillae (Fig. 3 B), mesoscutum punctate at sides of parapsidal lines and posterior margin, propodeum lateral surface mostly polished and punctate (Fig. 15 C).	en	Cappola, Victor, Gonçalves, Rodrigo B. 8C7BE1229E0DFFFC76F01CEC2ACAFAD2.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Easily separated from other Caenohalictus from southern Brazil by having long maxillary palpomeres, with each palpomere measuring about 2 to 3 times the MOD in females (Fig. 16 A), and about 2.5 times the MOD in males. Females can also be distinguished by the propodeal pit enclosed by strong carinae, carinae arched outwards (Fig. 2 C). The elongate palpomeres and propodeal pit carina also distinguish it from C. oresicoetes. From the C. sesquipalpis sp. nov., females can be separated also by longer head, male S 6 having a slight invagination (Fig. 26 B), and longer eye setae, measuring around 1.0 times the MOD. The elongate palpomeres and head also distinguish these species from C. aerugineus.	en	Cappola, Victor, Gonçalves, Rodrigo B. 8C7BE1229E0FFFF976F019DD291BFA8A.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Caenohalictus palumbes is a large species, measuring from 8 to 10 mm, with maxillary palpomeres measuring about 1 x the MOD and eyes not enlarged as in C. longipalpis sp. nov. and C. sesquipalpis sp. nov. It resembles C. cyanolucens sp. nov. and C. parviformis sp. nov., but can be separated by the larger size in both sexes, females with scutellum densely punctate and polished, propodeal pit enclosed, weak carinae almost parallel and S 1 with strong metallic reflections. From males of C. cyanolucens sp. nov., it can be easily separated by flagellomeres 2 – 11 homogeneously covered by intermixed trichodea and placodea sensillae and mandible with preapical tooth. The male preapical tooth is found only in C. palumbes among examined species. The male is described for the first time.	en	Cappola, Victor, Gonçalves, Rodrigo B.
