Forewing of medium width, apex round, outer margin slightly convex; costa decorated with denser dark brown on basal one-third; wings almost unmarked except black discal spot, sometimes postmedial line faintly visible and composed of dark brown scales; fringes concolorous with wing color, long, without black scales. Hind wing shallowly curved without protruding; wing pattern same as forewing. Underside. Forewing densely covered with dark brown scales, except area between Sc and anterior margin of cell, and area close to inner margin; postmedial line broad and distinct; discal spot large, dark brown. Hindwing with sparse dark brown scales; discal spot small. Forewing with areole, R 1 free or shortly stalked with R 2 - 5; hind wing with Rs and M 1 stalked for 2 / 5 to 1 / 2 of M 1 length. Male genitalia (Figs 5 – 6). Uncus almost triangular. Gnathos short and broad, tongue-shaped. Juxta approximately trapezoid, without spines or process. Saccus triangular, anteriorly extending into a small conical projection, bifurcate. Valva small, basal half in equal width, distal half sharply tapered with blunt tip, costa with a pointed protuberance at middle. Aedeagus short and thick, terminal half swollen; cornutus a large hook-shaped spine. Female genitalia (Fig. 7). Ovipositor lobes short. Apophyses anteriores extremely short; apophyses posteriores slender. Ductus bursae short and thick, well sclerotized, an anteriorly diverging appendix bursae present. Cervix bursae longitudinally sclerotized, wrinkled. Corpus bursae nearly spherical, inner surface densely covered with minute spines.	en	Wen, Boxin, Han, Hongxiang, Cheng, Rui (2026): A new species of the genus Idaea Treitschke, 1825 from Yunnan, China (Lepidoptera: Geometridae). 85064509FFFEFFC0FF1FD68AFCB0FDEE.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. This species is morphologically similar to I. ochrata (Hausmann 2004, species 26), especially the orange wing and body. However, I. yunnanaura sp. nov. can be distinguished by the following characters: the wings exhibit a simpler pattern, lacking both the submarginal and terminal lines that are distinctly present in I. ochrata. Furthermore, I. yunnanaura sp. nov. possesses a distinct black discal spot on both fore- and hind wings, whereas in I. ochrata, the discal spot is either absent or only faintly visible. In addition, the wings of I. yunnanaura sp. nov. are also covered with dark brown scales. Genitalia morphology also provides diagnostic differences: in the male genitalia of I. yunnanaura sp. nov., the uncus is broader, the valval protrusion is located at mid-costa (compared to the valval apex in I. ochrata), and the cornutus is curved (straight in I. ochrata). In the female genitalia, the ductus bursae is shorter than that of I. ochrata.	en	Wen, Boxin, Han, Hongxiang, Cheng, Rui (2026): A new species of the genus Idaea Treitschke, 1825 from Yunnan, China (Lepidoptera: Geometridae). 85064509FFFEFFC0FF1FD68AFCB0FDEE.taxon	etymology	Etymology. This specific name is derived from the combination of the distribution area-Yunnan and the Latin word- aureus, which means gold or orange. Molecular data. Idaea yunnanaura sp. nov. and I. ochrata are clearly separated from each other in the COI barcode fragment (Fig. 8). The genetic distance between the two species ranges from 5.0 % to 5.6 %. The average genetic distance between two subspecies of I. ochrata is 1.8 %.	en	Wen, Boxin, Han, Hongxiang, Cheng, Rui (2026): A new species of the genus Idaea Treitschke, 1825 from Yunnan, China (Lepidoptera: Geometridae).
