827887CEFFCE7002B1BB10B2E6D7FEB2.taxon	discussion	Notes: Based on morphological characteristics and multi-locus phylogenetic analyses, Colletotrichum guttulatum is a distinct clade within the C. dracaenophilum species complex. Colletotrichum guttulatum forms a sister clade to C. coelogynes, C. crousii, C. parallelophorum, and other closely related taxa (Figure 1), with support of 82 % maximum likelihood bootstrap values and 0.99 Bayesian posterior probabilities. Morphologically, C. guttulatum shares common characteristics with other species in the complex, including hyaline, smooth-walled, aseptate, straight, cylindrical conidia with rounded apices and bases. However, it is distinguishable from its closest relatives by subtle differences in conidial dimensions: (14 –) 15 – 19 (– 21) × (5.5 –) 5.8 – 6 (– 7) μm in C. guttulatum versus (15 –) 15.5 – 18 (– 20) × (4.5 –) 5 – 6 (– 6.5) μm in C. coelogynes, 12.5 – 18.5 × 6.5 – 8 μm in C. crousii, and (12.1 –) 13.8 – 16.8 (– 18.9) × (3.3 –) 4.4 – 7.5 (– 7.9) µm in C. parallelophorum (Ma et al. 2018, Liu et al. 2022). The conidia of C. guttulatum are slightly longer and narrower in comparison. Pairwise nucleotide comparisons of Colletotrichum dracaenophilum with C. coelogynes, C. crousii, and C. parallelophorum revealed consistent genetic differences across all loci. The observed differences include: ITS: 3 % (17 / 541), 5 % (27 / 533), and 4 % (15 / 433) with 2, 7, and 3 gaps, respectively; act: 7.5 % (21 / 277), 7 % (17 / 255), no data for C. parallelophorum; 5, 3, and no gaps; gapdh: 16 % (44 / 285), 16 % (46 / 281), and 22 % (57 / 259) with 6, 4, and 14 gaps; β-tubulin: 7 % (37 / 534), 8 % (57 / 704), and 7.3 % (33 / 455) with 1, 8, and 1 gap; chs- 1: 2 % (6 / 300), 3.6 % (11 / 300), no gaps; his 3: 8.7 % (34 / 393), 9 % (35 / 392) with 2 and 3 gaps, respectively. Colletotrichum coelogynes and C. crousii do not contain the cal gene, whereas C. parallelophorum lacks the act, chs- 1, his 3, and cal genes. These molecular differences, particularly the high variation observed across multiple loci, provide strong evidence for the taxonomic separation of C. dracaenophilum from its relatives. In addition to morphological and phylogenetic evidence, the pairwise homoplasy index (PHI) test showed no significant signs of recombination between C. guttulatum and its phylogenetically closest relatives, C. coelogynes, C. crousii, and C. parallelophorum (Φw = 0.9942; Figure 2), supporting its genetic distinctiveness. The combination of phylogenetic support, clear morphological differentiation, and the absence of recombination provides robust evidence for recognizing C. guttulatum as a novel species within the C. dracaenophilum species complex.	en	Norphanphoun, Chada, Guo, Shi-Qi, Wang, Yong (2025): Colletotrichum-guttulatum sp. - nov.: a novel species from southwestern China.
