713187CD6754FFDAFF0B98F5FD62F97D.taxon	description	The species was adequately described in the original description. It is a slender bibionid with a body length 3.4 mm and wing length 3.2 mm. The head has a tall, horn-like, proclinate ocellar tubercle, the antennae are fairly long with elongate pedicel and 11 flagellomeres, all but the terminal one are conspicuously sigmoid. The complex eye has apically pointed ommatidia, appearing spiny. The palps are about as long as antennae, last segment slender and cylindrical. The wing is hyaline, pterostigma indistinctive, humeral vein present, subcosta distinctive, terminating at the level with origin of R 2 + 3. Costa extends to a little beyond apex of R 4 + 5. The basal radial sector is a little longer than R 2 – 5, R 2 + 3 is rather long and gently curved, R 4 + 5 almost straight. Crossvein r-m is slightly oblique, fork of M nearly symmetrical. CuA 1 (often referred to as M 3 + 4) has a distinctive kink at crossvein bm-cua and is apically gently curved, CuA 2 is apically gently curved, CuP is distinctive and reaches wing margin. The abdomen of the type specimen was obscured by a fracture in the amber.	en	Skartveit, John (2026): The genus Cascoplecia Poinar, 2010 (Diptera: Bibionidae: Cascopleciinae) from mid-Cretaceous Myanmar amber, with description of two new species.
