Pygofer side nearly triangular, with posterior margin acutely indented to form dorsal and ventral projection, each with fine apical bristles (Figs 10, 17). Ventral appendage markedly sclerotized, broad at base and gradually narrowing toward tip and divergent from pygofer lobe distally (Figs 8 – 10, 17). Subgenital plate moderately elongate, base without lateral lamella, basal half slightly wider than terminal half, apex curved dorsad, basal, marginal, and macrosetal groups well differentiated, basal group slightly basad of midlength with a few tapered setae, marginal setae moderately long and in continuous row, macrosetae in two rows basally becoming uniseriated toward apex, long, fine setae sparse (Fig 15). Paramere narrowed and elongated, swollen at point of attachment to connective, bearing single row of fine setae at terminal half (Figs 11, 16, 18). Aedeagus slightly asymmetrical, with dorsal spine on left side of atrium lacking on right side, dorsal apodeme absent, with preatrium elongate, shaft without processes. Anal styli well-developed (Figs 10, 14). Connective lamellar, articulated to aedeagus (Figs 11 – 12).	en	Yao, Qing-Ping, Ding, Yan, Yan, Bin, Yang, Mao-Fa, Yu, Xiao-Fei, Deng, Zi-Yue, Li, Zai-Yin (2026): A new genus with a new species of Empoascini (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Typhlocybinae) from China. 65637F4AFFC7FFDAFF50C3FFFE085ACD.taxon	etymology	Etymology. The new genus name combines the Latin prefix “ semi- ” and the adjective “ remotus ”, meaning “ half-removed ” referring to the characteristic male ventral appendage at the tip of pygofer located halfway away from the posterior margin of pygofer (Fig 17). Gender: masculine.	en	Yao, Qing-Ping, Ding, Yan, Yan, Bin, Yang, Mao-Fa, Yu, Xiao-Fei, Deng, Zi-Yue, Li, Zai-Yin (2026): A new genus with a new species of Empoascini (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Typhlocybinae) from China. 65637F4AFFC7FFDAFF50C3FFFE085ACD.taxon	discussion	Discussion. The new genus is similar to Alebroides Matsumura, 1931, Alafrasca Lu & Qin, 2013 and Lumicella Lu & Qin, 2013 in having forewing veins RP and MP’ fused and arising from the r cell, and the CuA vein on the hindwings branched. The new genus differs from Alebroides Matsumura, 1931 in having the branch point of hindwing vein CuA located toward the apex of the intersection between MP’ and CuA (Matsumura, 1931; Cai et al. 2001). The new genus differs from Alafrasca Lu & Qin, 2013 in having a slender body and concave posterior margin of the pygofer side, lacking a large black spot on the pronotum and protrusions on the aedeagus (Lu & Qin, 2014); The new genus differs from Lumicella Lu & Qin, 2013 in having 2 rows of macrosetae on the subgenital plate and the tip of the aedeagal shaft compressed and expanded in lateral view (Lu et al. 2013). The new genus is similar in the lateral view of the apical portion of the aedeagus to Apheliona Kirkaldy, 1907, Jacobiasca Dworakowska, 1972, and Kybos Fieber, 1866, in having the entire aedeagus axe-shaped. The new genus is distinct from Apheliona Kirkaldy, 1907 in that the bifurcation point of the CuA vein on the hindwing is located toward the apex of the intersection between MP’ and CuA, in possessing four types of setae on the subgenital plate, and the pygofer lobe apex emarginate (Kirkaldy, 1907; Zhang, 1990). The differences between the new genus and Jacobiasca Dworakowska, 1972 are as follows: (1) forewing RP and MP’fused at base and arising from r cell, and CuA vein on the hindwing branched; (2) paramere narrowed and elongated, bearing a single row of fine setae at terminal half; (3) anal styli developed, and inflated near middle, tapering to a sharp tip (Dworakowska, 1972; Dworakowska, 1977). The new genus differs from Kybos Fieber, 1866 in the following aspects: (1) hind wing CuA forked; (2) subgenital plates with terminal half not twisted; (3) paramere lacking distinct distal teeth and bearing a single row of fine setae at terminal half (Fieber, 1866; Xu et al. 2021).	en	Yao, Qing-Ping, Ding, Yan, Yan, Bin, Yang, Mao-Fa, Yu, Xiao-Fei, Deng, Zi-Yue, Li, Zai-Yin (2026): A new genus with a new species of Empoascini (Hemiptera, Cicadellidae, Typhlocybinae) from China.
