Posteromedial margin of Cx-I triangular (Figure 1A), Cx-IV medial margin nose-like protruding. The NJ tree is presented in Figure 2. The COI tree sequence retrieved from a specimen of H. turani sp. nov. from Türkiye appeared as a sister taxon of H. anatolicus Esen & Pešić, 2013 . The mean genetic distance between COI sequences of these two species was estimated at 16.1% K 2P. Only one specimen of the new species could be acquired for use in molecular analyses, so intraspecific differences in COI sequence could not be examined.

Discussion — Based on COI data, the new species from northeastern Türkiye appears to be most closely related to Hygrobates anatolicus, a species known from eastern Türkiye (Esen et al. 2013). Males of H. anatolicus can be distinguished from the new species by having a lineated integument (occasionally forming irregular ridges), a less projecting posteromedial margin of Cx-I, and larger genital acetabula (Esen et al. 2013).

Distribution — Türkiye; known only from the type locality (Figure 6A).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/670187899F2BD838FF2BFAE4FC00F92B	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. The NJ tree is presented in Figure 5. The COI tree sequence retrieved from specimens here described as Atractides karadenizensis sp. nov. from Türkiye appeared as a sister taxon of A. gibberipalpis Piersig, 1898 . The mean genetic distance between COI sequences of these two species was estimated at 17.3% K 2P. The mean intraspecific K2P distance within the new species cluster was 0.51%.

Discussion —The new species morphologically most closely resembles Atractides gibberipalpis Piersig, 1898 . This rhithrobiontic species, considered widely distributed across the Palaearctic region (e.g., Gerecke et al. 2016; Pesic & Erman 2006), can be distinguished from the new species by the shape of the male genital plate, in which Ac-3 is strongly elongated and drop-shaped (Gerecke 2003; Pešić & Smit 2021). The high genetic distance between the new species and A. gibberipalpis (COI 17.3% K2P) suggests a long independent evolutionary history for the new species. Atractides yazdensis Pešić, Smit & Saboori, 2021, a species originally described from south Iran differs from the new species in I-L with enlarged penultimate segment bearing a truncated sword seta S-1 and P-4 sword seta slightly proximal to posteroventral hair (see Pešić et al. 2021b).

Distribution — Türkiye; known from Rize province (Figure 6B).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/670187899F2DD831FF2BF901FC75FE58	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. The examined specimen from Trabzon used in this study for molecular analysis matches the description of Sperchon milisai, a species previously known only from the Western Balkans (Pešić et al. 2025c). The molecularly studied specimens from eastern Türkiye form a unique BIN (BOLD:AGO5836), with the nearest neighboring BIN being BOLD:AGG3937, which includes a single specimen of S. milisai from Bosnia and Herzegovina. The p - distance between these two BINs was estimated at 4.65%.As emphasized by Pešić (2022), it is likely that, due to the unsclerotized excretory pore, females of S. milisai were previously confused with S. clupeifer, a species frequently reported from streams in Europe and Türkiye (Erman et al. 2010; Pešić et al. 2025c). Males of S. clupeifer, however, can be readily distinguished by their dorsal shield, more slender palps (P-4 L/H ratio>5.5), and differently shaped ejaculatory complex (see Pešić 2022).

Distribution: Western Balkan (Montenegro, Croatia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina; Pešić et al. 2025c).
