59248786B067FFE01AEEFF59FDE2B115.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Because of its long macrosetae on head and body, Sensillanura snideri sp. nov. looks similar to S. barberi and S. santizaragozai; however, in the new species cephalic seta A is a very small microseta and in the two others it is a long macroseta or a mesoseta. In S. barberi the long macrosetae are barbulate and in the others they are smooth. S. snideri sp. nov. belongs to the group of species in the genus with 3 ocular setae. Three species have the combination of Oca as a microseta, Ocm as long macroseta and Ocp as long macroseta: S. giribeti sp. nov., S. subiasi sp. nov., and S. snideri sp. nov.	en	Smolis, Adrian, Arango, Angela, Bernard, Ernest C., Palacios-Vargas, José G. 59248786B06BFFE01AEEFE78FB7BB73D.taxon	discussion	Remarks. S. marimutti sp. nov. is a small species (1.06 mm). The head and body setae are macrosetae, but not as long as the preceding species. The species has a unique ocular chaetotaxy: Oca and Ocp are microsetae and Ocm is a macroseta. The clypeal setae F and G are similar to S. bullsa and S. austriaca in being a short macroseta and a mesoseta, respectively. Likewise, S. marimutti sp. nov. has setae C and D as mesosetae, but in the previous two species they are microsetae. All the abdominal tubercles on Abd. V of S. marimutti sp. nov. are fused in one large tubercle on each side, like in S. santizaragozai, S. barberi and S. bullsa, but Abd. I ‒ IV of the species lacks the macroseta on tubercle De that those species have. This condition also occurs in S. boneti sp. nov.	en	Smolis, Adrian, Arango, Angela, Bernard, Ernest C., Palacios-Vargas, José G. 59248786B068FFE71AEEF968FD23B40D.taxon	discussion	Remarks. S. sotoadamesi sp. nov. is a medium-sized species (up to 1.25 mm) with a peculiar ocular chaetotaxy: Oca and Ocp are long macrosetae and Ocm is a microseta. On Abd. V there are four tubercles on each side: a separate Di and a fused De + Dl + L. This arrangement also occurs in S. giribeti sp. nov. but this latter species is characterised by one lateral tubercle on head (two in S. sotoadamesi sp. nov.), six labral setae (four in S. sotoadamesi sp. nov.), free setae De on Abd. I – III (none in S. sotoadamesi sp. nov.) and tubercle L on Abd. IV with free seta (tubercle L without free seta in S. sotoadamesi sp. nov.).	en	Smolis, Adrian, Arango, Angela, Bernard, Ernest C., Palacios-Vargas, José G. 59248786B070FFFB1AEEFD88FB73B700.taxon	discussion	Remarks. S. subiasi sp. nov. is one of the largest species in the genus (2.20 mm). It shares the presence of cephalic seta O with S. austriaca from Europe but clearly differs from S. austriaca in having long macrosetae, short macrosetae and well-differentiated microsetae. In addition, the furcal vestige in this species is characterized by tiny microsetae without chaetopores (Fig. 10 C). Also, the De tubercle on Th. III of S. subiasi sp. nov. has 3 microsetae, one macroseta and the sensorial seta, but S. austriaca has only 2 mesosetae and the sensorial seta.	en	Smolis, Adrian, Arango, Angela, Bernard, Ernest C., Palacios-Vargas, José G. 59248786B075FFF21AEEF8C2FC2DB4B5.taxon	discussion	Remarks. S. boneti sp. nov. is a medium-sized species (up to 1.30 mm). The long macrosetae typically are shorter than in other species. Most characteristic is the lack of seta Oca in the ocular area. Sensillanura bullsa also lacks seta Oca, but it has two large ocular setae, while S. boneti sp. nov. has only one large seta and one small seta. The new species is also differentiated from all the other species of the genus by external displacement of the sensorial setae from tubercle De on Abd. I ‒ III, as indicated by the arrows in Fig. 12 A. This new species is the only American species with a reduction of chaetotaxy on femora and tibiotarsi (Table 7), with one less seta on each femur and tibiotarsus than in the other five new species described herein.	en	Smolis, Adrian, Arango, Angela, Bernard, Ernest C., Palacios-Vargas, José G. 59248786B079FFF41AEEFAD8FC54B3F0.taxon	description	Emended description. General. Body length (without antennae) of lectotype not determined due to specimen damage (about 1.6 mm). Colour of the body white, with 2 + 2 relatively large unpigmented eyes, anterior eye located outside tubercle Oc (Fig. 13 A). Dorsal ordinary setae of four types: long macrosetae (Ml), short macrosetae (Mc), mesosetae (me) and microsetae (mi). Long macrosetae thick, straight, apically rounded (Fig. 13 A). Macrosetae Mc morphologically similar to long macrosetae, but much shorter. Mesosetae similar to ventral setae, thin, smooth and pointed. Microsetae similar to mesosetae, but very short. S-setae of tergites thin, smooth and short, slightly shorter than nearby macrosetae. Antennae typical of the genus with sensillum S 7 hypertrophied. Dorsal and ventral antennal chaetotaxy of antennae difficult to interpret (Ant. IV with eight large olfactory hairs). Sensillum Sgv long and straight, apical vesicle distinct and trilobed. Buccal cone long with labral sclerotizations non-ogival. Labral chaetotaxy mostly unknown, only two apical labral setae visible (Fig. 13 B). Labium with four basal, three distal and three lateral setae, papillae x invisible (Fig. 13 B). Maxilla unknown, mandible relatively thick with three teeth: one basal, one mid and one apical, slightly subdivided (Fig. 13 C). Dorsal chaetotaxy and tubercles: central area of head with setae A (as mi), B (Ml), C (mi), D (mi), E (mi), Oca (mi), Ocm (Ml) and Ocp (Ml) (Fig. 13 A). Tubercle Dl on Th. III with three ordinary setae (2 Ml and mi) and sensillum. Abd. IV with two setae Di (Ml + mi), three De (Ml + 2 mi + s), three Dl (2 Ml + me). Ventrally, group Vi on head with 6 setae. On Abd. IV, tubercle L with 7 setae, without free setae. Abd. V with 3 Vl setae. Male ventral organ not developed. Abd. VI with 14 Ve setae. On legs, coxae I ‒ III with 3, 7 and 8 setae, respectively. Trochanters with 6 setae each. Femora I – II with 10 and 11 setae, respectively. Tibiotarsi I – III with 18 setae each, seta M present, setae B 4 and B 5 relatively short and pointed. Claw without internal tooth (Fig. 13 D).	en	Smolis, Adrian, Arango, Angela, Bernard, Ernest C., Palacios-Vargas, José G. 59248786B079FFF41AEEFAD8FC54B3F0.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Since the condition of the preserved lectotype was poor, many features important for the taxonomy of Neanurinae and Sensillanura could not be determined and described to a satisfactory degree. Nevertheless, we include an emended description of Wray’s species for two reasons. The first is the finding of two eyes (Wray stated eyes were absent), which significantly affects the placement of this species within the genus, because until now it was combined with another blind species, S. caeca. The second is the indication in the current description of many previously unknown but important characters. These characters will be instrumental for identifying S. bullsa in future collections at or near the type locality. Arango-Galván & Palacios-Vargas (2017) in their revision of the genus Sensillanura checked the only specimen sent by K. A. Christiansen with the following data: Female neotype from 26 - IX- 1983. South Carolina, Barnwell Co., Savannah River Plant. Rd. Junction Rd. 9 deciduous litter, Wm. Hargrove, USA. After comparison with the original description, we conclude that this is an undescribed species and not S. bullsa.	en	Smolis, Adrian, Arango, Angela, Bernard, Ernest C., Palacios-Vargas, José G.
