F1 much longer than or about as long as F2 (slightly shorter in A. doiphukhensis); fore wing venation complete in female (1st subdiscal cell open in male of A. doiphukhensis); median antennomeres expanded in some species and apical antennomeres white in A. doiphukhensis; antenna length variable, shorter than, equal to, or slightly longer than body; ovipositor short to very short, with only extreme apex extending beyond tip of metasoma, but slightly shorter than metasoma in A. cheni .</p><p>Note. Sexual dimorphism in Alloea species is expressed in the wing and antenna; other characters of the genus were summarized by Wharton &amp; Chou (1985).</p><p>Distribution. Palaearctic, Nearctic, Oriental.</p><p>Biology. Holotype, ♂ (QSBG), THAILAND Nan <a href="https://tb.plazi.org/GgServer/search?materialsCitation.longitude=101.079414&amp;materialsCitation.latitude=19.205433" title="Search Plazi for locations around (long 101.079414/lat 19.205433)">Doi Phu Kha NP Office 3</a>, 19°12.326’N, 101°4.765’E, elevation 1332 m, Malaise trap 15–22.VIII.2007, Charoen &amp; Nikom leg., (H19863).</p><p>Description (Fig. 1). Holotype, ♂, length of body 1.4 mm, of fore wing 1.8 mm.</p><p>Head. Length of head 0.7 × its width (Fig. 1F); occipital carina absent (Fig. 1F); antenna with 16 antennomeres, scapus robust, 1.3 × wider and 1.6 × longer than pedicellus, F1 0.9 × F2, length of F1, F2, tenth and penultimate antennomeres 3.8, 7.2, 3.5, 4.0 × their width, respectively (Fig. 1A); temples slightly protruding (Fig. 1F); eye glabrous, 1.9 × length of temple in dorsal view (Fig. 1F); frons smooth, slightly concave medially; vertex and temple smooth; ocelli small, arranged in regular triangle, POL: OD: OOL= 8:7:2; length of face 0.8 × its width (Fig. 1D), face smooth mostly, protruding near antennal sockets, with a wide longitudinal ridge medially, almost complete to clypeus and with sparse rugae medially (Fig. 1D); clypeus distinctly separated from face, evenly convex and smooth; height of clypeus 0.3 × its width (Fig. 1D); hypoclypeal depression large, 7.0 × length of tentorio-ocular distance (Fig. 1D); length of malar space 0.1 × basal width of mandible; mandible smooth and slender, tooth 2 0.4 × length of mandible; tooth 1 slightly shorter than tooth 3, tooth 1 0.2 × and tooth 3 0.3 × length of tooth 2 (Figs 1C, 1E).</p><p>Mesosoma. Length of mesosoma 1.6 × its height; sides of pronotum smooth (Fig. 1G); mesopleuron convex medially and smooth, precoxal sulcus present in anterior 2/3 of mesopleuron and crenulate (Fig. 1G); metapleuron slightly convex and smooth; mesoscutum smooth, notauli absent dorsally, mid-pit absent (Fig. 1I); scutellum smooth, nearly hexagon-shaped; scutellar sulcus smooth with one carina (Fig. 1I); propodeum smooth, with a nearly complete longitudinal ridge and bifurcate in posterior 1/5, anterior 1/4 with irregular ridges (Fig. 1I); postpectal carina absent.</p><p>Wings. Fore wing: pterostigma greatly reduced, linear, slightly wider than vein length, nearly merging with R1; length of vein R1 and 3RSb complete, r:3SRa =1:4; second submarginal cell long; 3SRa 2.7 × 2RS; 1m-cu slightly postfurcal; vein (RS+M)b short; first subdiscal cell open, vein 1cu-a, 2-1A, 2cu-a and 2CUb absent, 2Cua present partly (Fig. 1B). Hind wing: reduced, vein cu-a absent (Fig. 1B).</p><p>Legs. Fore and middle legs normal, fore leg spur long and hook shaped and stronger basally than middle leg’s; hind legs lost.</p><p>Metasoma. T1 slender, 2.2 x longer than apical width, 3.1 x longer than basal width; T1 mostly smooth, with a longitudinal bifurcate ridge and two lateral ridges (Fig. 1J); dorsope positioned in anterior 1/3, deep and long (Fig. 1H); T2 concave basally, the remaining metasoma smooth, with sparse, long setae (Fig. 1J).</p><p>Colour. Body dark yellow to brown, head brown dorsally; face yellowish brown; mandible yellow; maxillary and labial palps white; antenna mostly brown, scapus and pedicellus yellow, apical two antennomeres white, apical third 1/2 white and 1/2 light brown; wings hyaline, stigma and veins white; legs light yellow, tarsi and claws brown; mesosoma and metasoma yellowish brown dorsally, mesopleuron brown, sides of mesoscutum and propleuron yellow.</p><p>Female: Unknown.</p><p>Distribution. Thailand (Nan).</p><p>Biology. Unknown.</p><p>Etymology. Length of mesosoma 1.4× its height; sides of pronotum mostly smooth, crenulate dorsally with a long ridge; mesopleuron smooth and convex medially, precoxal sulcus present in anterior 3/4 of mesopleuron and crenulate (Fig. 2C); metapleuron slightly convex and smooth; mesoscutum smooth, punctate along notaulus trace and mid-pit, with sparse setae; notauli present anterodorsally, mid-pit deep and round, 0.5×length of scutellar sulcus (Figs 2B,2E); scutellum smooth, nearly triangular; scutellar sulcus smooth, with one carina and shallow rugae (Fig. 2B); propodeum smooth, with a complete longitudinal ridge, anterior 1/3 with shallow rugae and a short transverse ridge medially (Fig. 2G); postpectal carina absent.</p><p>Wing. Fore wing: pterostigma greatly reduced, linear, slightly wider than vein length, blending imperceptibly with R1; 3RSb weakly recurved, nearly straight, ending at wing tip; r:3SRa=1:5; second submarginal cell long; 3SRa 2.4 × 2RS; 1m-cu strongly postfurcal; vein (RS+M)b long, 1/3 length of vein (RS+M)a; 1M 1.4 x longer than (RS+M)a; first subdiscal cell closed, 1cu-a slightly postfurcal; 2CUb arising from near middle of brachial cell and reduced, almost absent (Figs 2F,2H). Hind wing: vein 1M 0.5 x length of M+CU, 1.8 x longer than 1r-m.</p><p>Legs. Legs normal, hind coxa smooth; hind femur about 5.0 x longer than wide (Figs 2A,2F).</p><p>Metasoma. T1 1.6 x longer than apical width, 2.4 x longer than basal width; T1 with two complete longitudinal ridges, basal half smooth, apical half with short longitudinal ridges; dorsope positioned at midlength of T1, deep and long (Fig. 2B); T2 concave basally, with two inwardly inclined grooves, the remaining metasoma smooth (Fig. 2G); ovipositor sheath slightly shorter than metasoma, with sparse short hairs apically (Fig. 2A).</p><p>Color. Body yellowish brown to brown, head brown; mandible yellow; clypeus yellowish brown; maxillary and labial palps white; antenna mostly brown, scapus and pedicellus yellowish brown; wings hyaline, pterostigma and veins white; legs light yellow, tarsi and claws brown; mesosoma reddish brown, metasoma yellowish brown, propleuron yellowish brown, mesopleuron reddish brown.</p><p>Male: Unknown.</p><p>Distribution.
