Antennal callus well developed, transverse, 2.5 3.0 times wider than long, anteromesal ends angulate, curved, entering into interantennal space. Antennal callus not depressed, all sulci delimiting antennal callus well developed; supracallinal, midfrontal sulci deep. Orbit narrow. Frontal ridge and anterofrontal ridge together form an equilateral triangle, wide and flat anteriorly above clypeus, narrowing acutely and raised between antennal sockets (Fig. 3). Labrum with four setiferous pores arranged in a transverse row. Pronotum with or without a simple antebasal transverse impression, not delimited laterally. Posterior margin of pronotum weakly but distinctly bisinuate. Procoxal cavities open behind. Elytra with well developed humeral callus; punctures confused, often forming uncountable rows. Elytral epipleuron oblique, extending beyond three-quarters of elytron, not reaching apex. Posterior margin of metasternum bisinuate, raised on either side of middle, forming a pair of distinct protuberances, raised above level of metacoxa. In dorsal view, metatibia characteristically curved, gradually widening from proximal end to distal end, dorsally flat. First metatarsomere as long as or longer than half of metatibia, laterally flattened. Claw appendiculate. First abdominal ventrite with a pair of characteristic subparallel ridges joining anteriorly in intercoxal region of ventrite to form an ‘ ∩ ’. Spermathecal duct long, convoluted. Proximal end of median lobe of aedeagus deeply cleft in ventral view (Fig. 12).	en	Prathapan, K. D. 350D8790FFC1FFB120C1D790FAA55AF0.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Prathapan & Viraktamath (2009) and Prathapan & Konstantinov (2021) redescribed Tegyrius and differentiated it from the other related genera. Tegyrius closely resembles Parategyrius Kimoto and Gressitt, Philogeus Jacoby and Lanka Maulik in having first metatarsomere as long as half of metatibia or longer. In Parategyrius, the antennal calli may partially enter the interantennal space, and the pronotum has a transverse antebasal impression as in Tegyrius. However, Tegyrius can be separated from Parategyrius by the antennal calli, which are acutely angulate and curved anteromesally, entering the interantennal space (antennal calli only partially enter the interantennal space in Parategyrius); sulci surrounding antennal calli deep (sulci surrounding antennal calli poorly developed in Parategyrius); spermathecal duct long and convoluted (spermathecal duct not convoluted, only forming a loop in Parategyrius). Often Tegyrius occurs along with Lanka on Piper species as both the genera feed on plants from the family Piperaceae. They share four labral setae; an anterofrontal and frontal ridge that together form a triangular ridge; and the first metatarsomere at least as long as half of the length of the metatibia. Tegyrius can be separated from Lanka by the antennal calli which are on the same level as the vertex and delimited by deep sulci (antennal calli sunken and the sulci are not easily discernible in Lanka) and the transverse antebasal impression on the pronotum that is present in most Tegyrius species (transverse antebasal impression absent on pronotum in Lanka). Philogeus shares the following characters with Tegyrius: four labral setae; transverse antebasal impression on pronotum; first metatarsomere as long as or longer than 1 / 2 length of metatibia; and convoluted spermathecal duct. Philogeus can be separated from Tegyrius using the following characters: bifid claws (claws appendiculate in Tegyrius); indistinct sulci surrounding the antennal calli (sulci surrounding antennal calli deep in Tegyrius) and antennal calli broadly joined medially (antennal calli not joined medially in Tegyrius). Sahyadrialtica Prathapan & Konstantinov and Bikasha Maulik can be separated from Tegyrius by observing the first metatarsomere, which is shorter than half the length of metatibia (first metatarsomere at least as long as half of the length of metatibia in Tegyrius).	en	Prathapan, K. 350D8790FFC1FFB420C1D041FED65D71.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Tegyrius clarki sp. nov. resembles T. anupama Prathapan & Viraktamath, T. budhai Prathapan & Viraktamath, T. dalei Prathapan & Viraktamath, T. keralaensis (Doeberl), T. metallicus Jacoby, T. nigrotibialis Prathapan & Viraktamath, T. radhikae Prathapan & Viraktamath, and T. tippui Prathapan & Viraktamath, in having entirely black dorsum. Tegyrius clarki sp. nov. will key to couplet 9 in Prathapan & Viraktamath (2009) leading to T. keralaensis (Doeberl), T. radhikae Prathapan & Viraktamath, T. tippui Prathapan & Viraktamath, and T. dalei Prathapan & Viraktamath. However, T. clarki sp. nov. can be separated from all these species by the triangular apex of aedeagus (none of the other black species have an aedeagus with triangular apex in ventral view) and the darker middle and lighter proximal and distal antennomeres (all antennomeres are yellow or distal antennomeres are darker in the Sri Lankan and south Indian species). Tegyrius clarki sp. nov. is geographically widely separated from the other black species.	en	Prathapan, K. D. 350D8790FFC4FFB520C1D6D8FB645DC5.taxon	discussion	Remarks. This species resembles T. pucetibialis Prathapan & Viraktamath from south India, being the only other species with unicolorous chestnut brown dorsum. However, T. pucetibialis can be differentiated from T. indonesiana sp. nov. by the structure of aedegus that has a transparent window on the ventral side with an obtuse apex in ventral view (aedeagus lacks a transparent window on ventral surface in T. indonesiana sp. nov., and its apex is triangular in ventral view). Midlegs in T. pucetibialis are sexually dimorphic with the mesotibia in lateral view distinctly curved and distally enlarged in males, however, mesotibia is apparently unmodified in T. indonesiana sp. nov. Moreover, T. pucetibialis and T. indonesiana sp. nov. are geographically widely separated.	en	Prathapan, K. D.
