Externally, the forewing ground color is yellowish-white rather than grayish-white; the apex bears a distinct white subtriangular streak, which is absent in A. hiemalis; the median white area is broader; the white mark beyond the distal subtriangular costal patch is a rounded patch, rather than a short stripe. The dorsal abdomen is generally white rather than grayish, with the first segment white instead of deep rufous. Genitally, the male is characterized by auriculate valvae rather than elongate ones; juxta arms with dense hairs at the distal ends, which are absent in A. hiemalis; a shorter aedeagus. The female is characterized by a shorter and thicker ostium, a shorter ductus bursae, and a corpus bursae with a proportionally smaller signum.

Description. Head. Antennae bipectinate in male, with the longest ramus approximately three times the diameter of the antennal shaft; filiform in female. Vertex white, fuscous around scape. Frons fuscous, projected by a tuft of hair. Labial palpi almost two times longer than the diameter of the compound eye, proximal one-third white, distal two-thirds fuscous. Proboscis well developed. Thorax. Collar dark rufous. Thoracic disk white, with a pale rufous stripe along the posterior edge. Tegulae coverd with white scales. Fore- and midlegs fuscous, hindlegs white; tibial spur formula 0-2-4. Forewing. Length 18 mm in male, 20 mm in female; male forewing relatively narrower. Ground color yellowish-white. Costa bears a dark rufous stripe basally and two separate dark rufous subtriangular patches medially. Antemedial line thick, dark rufous, descending from the distal end of the dark costal stripe to the inner fourth of the inner margin, tapering toward inner margin, with its inner basal angle white. Postmedial line black and distinct, irregularly curved with distinct projection outwards along vein M1, reaching from the distal subtriangular patch to the midpoint of the inner margin; outer side suffused with dark rufous, darkened along veins and closely paralleled by an obscure black line. Submarginal line present as a row of two small white dots below the white subtriangular apical streak, one large subelliptical white patch reaching to the termen along veins M3 and Cu1, and one irregularly shaped medium-sized white patch on the tornus. Terminal line black, interrupted at veins. Fringe concolorous with the terminal area. Underside white, dusted with grey scales; areas corresponding to all rufous markings on upperside covered with blackish-grey scales, darkening towards apex; postmedial line black, obscure. Discal spot present as a short black strip, identical on both sides of the wing. Hindwing. Ground color grayish-white. Postmedial line fine, black doublet and waved, thickened and convergent at anal margin, diverging toward costa; outer component nearly parallel to outer margin, inner component short, fading out by mid-wing. Terminal area dark rufous with a short white sripe at anal angle. Fringe concolorous with the terminal area. Underside white, dusted with black scales, darker towards the termen. Discal spot present as a small black dot, more conspicuous ventrally than dorsally. Abdomen. White, covered by yellow scales dorsally, scattered with black scales ventrally. Dorsal tufts deep rufous. A fine dark rufous line is present on the dorsal proximal edge of the second segment. Terminal portion fuscous, occupying about one-third of the abdominal length in male, one-fifth in female.

Male genitalia (Fig 4). Uncus long and slender. Tegumen narrow.Anellus with a pair of pollex-like dorsal lobes. Juxta projecting a pair of tongue-like arms, with dense hairs at distal ends. Valvae broad, auriculate, covered with hairs. Costa distinctly sclerotized, swollen over basal half, with a small apical process. Sacculus thickened. Saccus short, hemispherical. Aedeagus moderately long, slightly curved, with ovoid coecum. Cornutus rounded at apex.

Female genitalia (Fig 5). Papillae anales rough and setose. Antrum a funnel-shaped sclerite. Apophyses posteriores long, more than twice the length of apophyses anteriores, dilated and hook-shaped at apex. Ostium thick and stout. Ductus bursae membranous, tubular, with a short but well-developed colliculum. Corpus bursae membranous, globular, with an oval and spinulose signum located in the upper median portion.

Etymology. The specific epithet albiapicalis is derived from Latin, combining albus and apicalis, in reference to the distinctive white marking at the apex of the forewing.

Distribution. China (Zhejiang Prov.)

Biology. Univoltine. Adults fly from November to December. Based on limited records, the flight period likely extends into other months. The immature stage and host plant are unknown.

Remarks. The tribal placement of Amoebotricha requires clarification. Although it was previously assigned to Rheumapterini Herbulot, 1962 by Tóth et al. (2018), re-examination of morphological characters supports its placement in the tribe Cidariini Duponchel, 1845, as defined by Viidalepp (2011) and Hausmann and Viidalepp (2012). The congruent characters are as follows: male genitalia have labides derived from lateral parts of the juxta, separate from the valval projection, and lacking a roof-like union at the distal tips.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/2E7E87AB39713D3DF7D5BAA1FBEC0D61	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
