0E7AC031390ED666FF04FCB7FCC8FEFA.taxon	distribution	Distribution and ecology: — Known so far only from Cajamarca, Peru. It grows as an epiphyte in the remnants of the upper montane cloud forest (Figure 2) at an elevation of about 3100 m (Figure 3). Flowering occurs in November. It can be threatened by the expansion of pastures in the region.	en	Kolanowska, Marta, Szlachetko, Dariusz L. (2025): A new large-flowered species of Telipogon (Orchidaceae) discovered in Peru. 0E7AC031390ED666FF04FCB7FCC8FEFA.taxon	discussion	Taxonomic discussion: — Telipogon angelicus is the only Peruvian species of Telipogon with a partially free callus featuring “ wings ” extending from the main callus body toward the margins on the concave lip. It resembles Ecuadorian T. frymirei Dodson, known from Loja and Zamora-Chinchipe provinces (Dodson & Dodson 1984), but is easily distinguished from the newly described species by differences in lip and petal morphology. The petals of T. frymirei are about twice as long as wide (20 × 10 mm), while those of T. angelicus are nearly as wide as long (14.5 × 12 mm). The lip of T. frymirei measures 7 – 8 mm in both length and width, is broadly ovate, and subcordate at the base, with 19 to 23 veins. Conversely, the lip of T. angelicus is wider than it is long (10 × 14.5 mm), broadly reniform, with 21 branching veins. The central part of the lip callus in T. frymirei is sub-triangular, ligulate, while the callus in T. angelicus is triangular-ovate. Moreover, the gynostemium in T. frymirei is ornamented with 3 tufts of setae (vs 2 tufts). Another similar species is T. montufarianus H. Medina, J. Portilla & Hirtz (2019: 629), described from Azuay province in Ecuador. This orchid also features a slightly concave lip; however, the floral segments of our new species are smaller, and the lip is almost half the size of that of T. montufarianus. Additionally, T. montufarianus flowers are pure yellow, except for the maroon callus and gynostemium. The recently described from Ecuador T. rojasiae C. Martel, A. G. Diaz & Iturralde (2025: 51), is also similar by its concave lip, but the petals of this species are 10 - veined, the lip is 26 - veined and gynostemium is ornamented with 3 tufts of setae.	en	Kolanowska, Marta, Szlachetko, Dariusz L.
