The specific name hircicornisjuxta is derived from Latin hircicornis, due to the juxta of this species similar to horns (cornu) of he-goat (hircus).

Diagnosis. This species is very similar to other members of Addyme, especially Addyme confusalis Yamanaka, 2006 . However, this new species can easily be distinguished by its unique genitalia characteristics. The species has a juxta that is rhomboid but dorsally cleaved, overall approaching a V-shape. There are many small spine-like processes covering the surface of the juxta arms, and their apex is curved outwardly. In contrast, other Addyme species lack small, spine-like processes on the juxta arms (i.e. A. confusalis, A. obscuriella, Figs. 2C, D). In addition, the species has a unique aedeagus: there are several conspicuous large spines at the apex of aedeagus, while the other Addyme species have minute to small spines or none at the aedeagal apex (i.e. A. confusalis, A. obscuriella, Figs. 2E, F).

Remarks. While the females are currently unknown, there are some distinctive characteristics of male genitalia separable from other Addyme species. Du et al. (2007) identified this species as Coleothrix obscuriella (Inoue, 1959) . However, Coleothrix is currently a junior synonym of Addyme (Leraut, 2021: 150), and we found that Addyme obscuriella, re-described by Inoue (1989) based on its types, clearly differs from this species. For example, the forewing of this species is reddish brown to brownish orange, while of A. obscuriella is dark brown overall. In male genitalia, the juxta of this species is bifurcated from base, while of A. obscuriella bifurcated at two-third from the base. In conclusion, we judged this species is new species, therefore synonymized Coleothrix obscuriella sensu Du et al.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/060FA131DF011D7DA0A9CD68FF54FE22	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
