It differs from the latter in having IOS greater than EH; short setae on submarginalis that do not surpass the anterior margin of the wing, and the horn on T1 rugose posteriorly. In C. longicarinatus EH is greater than IOS, the setae on submarginalis are elongate, surpassing the anterior margin of the wing, and the horn on T1 has arched carinae posteriorly.

Etymology

This species is named after Abbakka Chowta, the ‘fearless’ sixteenth century queen of Tulu Nadu, in today’s state of Karnataka, India, who repeatedly repelled attacks by the Portuguese colonisers for over four decades.
