Cephalon (as in Figs 2 D, E) with three rows of tubercles (one on frons and two on vertex); paramedial tubercles of second and third row more pronounced, tipped with multiple sharp spines; medial tubercle of third row with two sharp spines; lateral lobes short, quadrangular, wider than long. Pereonites convex (as in Figs 2 C, D) with three elongated, irregularly serrated tubercles per side and traces of forth one on base of epimera. Pereonite 7 with two elongated, serrated tubercles, third one reduced. Pleon (Fig. 2 F) convex; pleonites 3 – 5 with well-developed epimera; pleonite 3 with paramedian pair of tubercles prominent; pleonites 4 – 5 with traces of paramedian pairs of tubercles. Telson (Fig. 2 F) with a wide distal part and straight terminal edge; traces of paramedian pair of tubercles close to anterior edge. Antennula (Fig. 3 A) with wide basal article; second article short, shorter than wide, tapered towards tip; third article narrow, twice as long as second article, with three elongated apical aesthetascs. Antenna (Fig. 3 B) with stout articles ornamented same as body; flagellum of five articles, elongated, bearing two aesthetascs in its basal half; articles 1 – 3 of same length; article 4 as long as article 5. Mandibles. Left mandible (Fig. 4 A) with two penicils; pars incisiva lateralis and pars incisiva medialis with three short teeth each; pars molaris oval in shape without penicils. Right mandible (Fig. 4 B) with one penicil; pars incisiva elongated, ending with two flat teeth; lacinia mobilis inverted cone-shaped, distally covered with numerous small thorns; pars molaris elongated without penicils. Maxilla 1 (Fig. 5 A) outer endite with four strong elongated outer teeth and six short inner teeth, one inner tooth shorter than others; inner endite with three densely setose penicils, terminal one short, one third of length of proximal one; median one half length of proximal penicil. Maxilla 2 (Fig. 5 B) inner lobe slightly shorter than outer one, with two thick and five thinner rod-like setae on its tip and row of tiny elongated setae on outer margin; outer lobe on ventral surface with three rod-like setae subterminally and three such setae on inner margin; surfaces of both lobes with rows of tiny setae. Maxilliped (Fig. 5 C) endopod with widened latero-distal margin, with rows of elongated tiny setae; palp bearing strong setae terminally and on two slightly pronounced lobes on medial edge; endite distally truncate, with stout penicil and spine on distal margin. Pereopods. Pereopod 1 (Fig. 6 A) merus slightly longer than carpus; carpus as long as wide; dactylus with stout outer claw, ungual seta simple, long dactylar seta with brush-like apex; both are reaching distal margin of outer claw. 03BE87BFFFAEFFA2FF58E4C3FA80F900.taxon	discussion	Remarks Troglocyphoniscus tarae sp. nov. is readily distinguishable from all other species of the genus by the unique form of terminal article of male pleopod 1 endopod which is bent ventrolaterally in its apical quarter and subtriangular form of male pleopod 1 exopod. In the spirally twisted tip of the male pleopod 1 endopod shows its affinity to its geographically closest species Troglocyphoniscus remyi; however, it clearly differs from this species in other details of pleopod 1 endopod structure and in the different shape of the pleopod 1 exopod. Medveđa jama is a small cave but harbors a rich subterranean fauna, with 11 troglobitic species recorded to date. This suggests that it forms part of a larger cave system that is currently inaccessible. In addition to T. tarae sp. nov., the cave contains another troglobitic oniscid, Cyphonethes biseriatus (Verhoeff, 1900), although it is rare. Unlike the new species, C. biseriatus is substantially larger, more vagile, and likely represent a younger troglobite, as evidenced by its wide, disjunct distribution across parts of the Balkans (Karaman & Horvatović 2018).	en	Karaman, Ivo, Horvatović, Mladen (2026): A new species of the subterranean genus Troglocyphoniscus Strouhal, 1939 (Isopoda: Oniscidea: Trichoniscidae) from the Tara Mountain, Serbia.
