In this study, oviposition and larval stages could not be observed, preventing the direct identification of the host plants. Based on the surrounding habitat, Pinus densiflora ( Pinaceae), a species widespread throughout the Korean Peninsula and Japan (Choung et al. 2020), is inferred to be the likely host, since the host plant of the Japanese subspecies Buprestis (Cypriacis) splendens niponica Hoscheck, 1931 has been reported as P. densiflora (Ohmomo & Fukutomi 2013) . Detailed ecological studies and further research on this species are required.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03B0A4157364FFDDFF23FAEAC63F7DEB	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
