03AD87C6FFF4FF89FF51FB1AFB90FAAD.taxon	description	Description. MALE. Forewing length 19 mm. HEAD: vertex, frons, eye, gena, labial palpus, and antenna uniformly brown, with somewhat pale scales behind eyes. Nudum with 27 segments. THORAX: uniformly brown. Legs and wings brown (only the right prothorax leg is preserved in the holotype). Forewing with white costal fold, from base to origin of R 2. Dorsal forewing: paler along marginal area, with three faint, irregular dark brown bands from C to 2 A, the distal band narrower, the proximal crossing distal half of discal cell. Dorsal hindwing: distal half suffused with purple scales, with three faint, irregular, longitudinal dark brown bands, the distal one very inconspicuous. Ventral forewing: paler than dorsal surface; apex and anal margin lighter; bands as on dorsal forewing. Ventral hindwing: posterior half paler than anterior; dark brown bands as on dorsal hindwing. ABDOMEN: uniformly brown. Genitalia: tegumen squared, with two conspicuous, arched, wide distolateral projection. Saccus short, not projected anteriorly. Uncus bifid, arms widely spaced. Gnathos divided, distally pointed; in ventral view as two broad paired plates. Valva subrhombic; costa with anterior portion ventrally projected, bearing a tuft of long setae; sacculus elongated, with anterior end bearing a long bifid dorsal spined process; ampulla elongate, distally rounded; harpe with triangular upturned apex, bearing triangular teeth-like spines. Aedeagus narrow, approximately straight (the aedeagus was not illustrated because it was lost after preparation). Fultura inferior as a broad sclerotized plate.	en	Medeiros, Adalberto Dantas De, Suênia-Bastos, Ayane, Gualberto, Emanoel Pereira, Cajé, Suianne, Mielke, Olaf Hermann Hendrik (2026): Description of two new species of Iliana Bell, 1937, subgenus Torgus Grishin 2023 (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) based on morphological and molecular evidence. 03AD87C6FFF4FF89FF51FB1AFB90FAAD.taxon	discussion	Comments. Iliana (Torgus) taurina sp. nov. is phenotypically close to the other species of the subgenus. While its size and coloration suggest a morphological affinity with I. (Torgus) xapuri sp. nov., the genitalia appear more similar to I. (Torgus) taurus, mainly in the general shape of the valva and in the well-developed dorsal spined process of the sacculus. However, the bifid dorsal spined process of the sacculus, and the conspicuously broader distolateral projection of the tegumen clearly distinguish I. (Torgus) taurina sp. nov. from any other species of the genus.	en	Medeiros, Adalberto Dantas De, Suênia-Bastos, Ayane, Gualberto, Emanoel Pereira, Cajé, Suianne, Mielke, Olaf Hermann Hendrik (2026): Description of two new species of Iliana Bell, 1937, subgenus Torgus Grishin 2023 (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) based on morphological and molecular evidence. 03AD87C6FFF4FF89FF51FB1AFB90FAAD.taxon	etymology	Etymology. The specific epithet taurina is derived from the Latin word “ taurinus ” meaning “ of or pertaining to a bull ”. The name refers to the resemblance of the uncus, gnathos and tegumen with a bull’s face in posterior view (see Fig. 2 F) and also highlights its derivation from the epithet of I. (Torgus) taurus, one of the morphologically closest species.	en	Medeiros, Adalberto Dantas De, Suênia-Bastos, Ayane, Gualberto, Emanoel Pereira, Cajé, Suianne, Mielke, Olaf Hermann Hendrik (2026): Description of two new species of Iliana Bell, 1937, subgenus Torgus Grishin 2023 (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) based on morphological and molecular evidence. 03AD87C6FFF2FF8BFF51FAC5FB93FCFD.taxon	description	Description. MALE. Forewing length 19 mm. HEAD: vertex, frons, eye, labial palpus, and antenna uniformly brown; gena somewhat paler. Nudum with 24 segments. THORAX: uniformly brown. Legs ventrally grayish; tibiae and spurs as described for the genus (Mielke & Casagrande 2016). Wings blackish brown. Forewing with a light-yellow costal fold, from base to origin of R 2. Ventral forewing: paler than dorsal surface; apex with a reduced light brown spot between R 4 and M 1; anal margin clearly lighter; bands as on dorsal forewing. Ventral hindwing: posterior half paler than anterior; dark brown bands as on dorsal hindwing; distal band reaching the wing margin in 2 A – 3 A. ABDOMEN: abdomen brown, with the last segment ventrally straw yellow. Genitalia: tegumen squared, with two conspicuous, arched, and wide distolateral projections. Saccus short, subtriangular. Uncus bifid, arms slightly divergent towards apex. Gnathos divided, distally pointed; in ventral view as two broad paired plates. Valva subtrapezoidal; costa with anterior portion ventrally projected, bearing a tuft of long setae; sacculus broad, anterior end bearing a short, and not bifid dorsal spined process (It appears to be slightly asymmetric between the two valvae); ampulla elongate, distally rounded; harpe with distally upturned apex, bearing triangular teeth-like spines and an inward-pointing process (broken in the left valva of the holotype). Aedeagus shorter than valva; distal end pointed, right curved (coecum broken during preparation). Fultura inferior as a broad sclerotized plate.	en	Medeiros, Adalberto Dantas De, Suênia-Bastos, Ayane, Gualberto, Emanoel Pereira, Cajé, Suianne, Mielke, Olaf Hermann Hendrik (2026): Description of two new species of Iliana Bell, 1937, subgenus Torgus Grishin 2023 (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) based on morphological and molecular evidence. 03AD87C6FFF2FF8BFF51FAC5FB93FCFD.taxon	discussion	Comments. Iliana (Torgus) xapuri sp. nov. can be easily confounded with I. (Torgus) taurina sp. nov. based on external wing pattern. However, the former is readily distinguished from the latter by the short dorsal spined process of the sacculus, the presence of an inward-pointing process on the harpe, and the aedeagus with its distal end curved to the right. Genetically, I. (Torgus) xapuri sp. nov. is closer to I. (Torgus) gorgus, but it differs from the latter by the presence of a costal fold on the male forewing and for general morphology of the male genitalia.	en	Medeiros, Adalberto Dantas De, Suênia-Bastos, Ayane, Gualberto, Emanoel Pereira, Cajé, Suianne, Mielke, Olaf Hermann Hendrik (2026): Description of two new species of Iliana Bell, 1937, subgenus Torgus Grishin 2023 (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) based on morphological and molecular evidence.
