Paramritodus monospina sp. nov.

(Figs 1A–I)

Description. Body predominantly pale yellow (Fig. 1A, B). Forewings with clavus and base of costal margin pale green. Crown, pronotum, and mesoscutellum each with a black spot on each side of midline (Fig. 1A, C). Frontal area, anteclypeus, and postclypeus yellowish brown; lora and genae pale yellow (Fig. 1B, C).

Head and thorax. Crown surface finely transversely striated (Figs 1A, C). Face, pronotum, and mesoscutellum granulose (Figs 1A–C). Median length of mesoscutellum slightly longer than combined median lengths of crown and pronotum (Fig. 1A). Lateral frontal sutures extending to ocelli (Fig. 1C). Anteclypeus approximately as wide at apex as at base (Fig. 1C). Apex slightly extended beyond apices of genae (Fig. 1C). Lora kidney-shaped (Fig. 1C).

Male genitalia. Male pygofer lobe elongated, extending beyond anal tube (Fig. 1I). Subgenital plate distinctly shorter than posterior margin of pygofer (Fig. 1I). Aedeagus S-shaped in lateral view, posterior margin distinctly concave near base, with a single process arising from concavity (Figs 1G, H). Dorsal apodeme of aedeagus weakly developed (Figs 1G, H). Gonopore situated on ventral surface of aedeagal shaft near middle (Fig. 1H).

Distribution. China (Yunan).

Type materials. Holotype: 1♂, China: Yunnan Province, Yuxi City, Xinping County, 28 June 2022, leg. Li Min (GUGC) . Paratypes: 1♂, 12♀♀, same data as holotype (GUGC); 4♂♂, 15♀♀, Yunnan Province, Baoshan City, Longling County, 21 May 2023, leg. The specific epithet monospina is a noun in apposition derived from the prefix mono- (single) and spina (spine), referring to the aedeagal shaft bearing only a single aedeagal process in this new species.

Remarks. The male genitalia of the new species are similar to those of Paramritodus introflexus, but differ in having the male pygofer lobe relatively elongate and narrow; a single aedeagal process arising from the concavity near the base of the aedeagal shaft; and the dorsal apodeme of the aedeagus weakly developed.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/039AEB2DFFE28D02FF79FF7263CB3220	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
