0393F939FF8A1A5CFF50FA65FC09194A.taxon	discussion	Remarks. Our specimens were compared with specimens of E. japonicus collected from South Korea (Fig. 2 B) and were found to be consistent with the latter in all key morphological characteristics. The color pattern of head of E. japonicus is similar to E. polistes. However, E. japonicus can be distinguished from E. polistes by the color pattern of the mesoscutum. In E. japonicus, it appears as either 1 – 3 black spots or a triangle, whereas in the latter, it is consistently anchor-shaped. Discussion. The genetic distances in Table 2 indicate that the sequenced specimens belong to the same species. Our specimens were collected from two villages in the Qinling Mountains, separated by a straight-line distance of 123 km. Examination of all specimens revealed considerable variation in the pattern of maculation on the mesoscutum, which can be categorized into three main types: Type I, with 1 – 3 black spots on the posterior part of the midlobe of the mesoscutum, beneath which a faint, large pale brown inverted triangular mark is visible (Fig. 2 C); Type II, with a longitudinal black stripe on the central part of the mesoscutum, slightly broadening posteriorly, surrounded by a faint pale brown inverted triangular mark (Fig. 2 D); Type III, with a distinct large black inverted triangular mark on the mesoscutum (Figs. 2 E – F). In specimens from Liziba Village, the three types occurred in roughly equal proportions, whereas in specimens from Xunyangba Village, Type III was predominant, and the other two types were less frequent. The two sites differ in elevation by approximately 200 meters. We hypothesize that this morphological variation may be associated with altitude and temperature. Due to the difficulty in collecting additional specimens, further studies are warranted to test this hypothesis.	en	Zhang, Yao, Li, Jia, Huang, Xiaojuan, Chen, Huayan, Hua, Yuan, Tan, Jiangli (2026): New data on Elasmus (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) reared from Polistes nests in China.
