Fig. 2

Fungal Names: 572418

Etymology:— Referring to the location, Mopanshi Management Station of Dashahe Nature Reserve, where the type specimen was collected.

Holotype: — CHINA. Guizhou Province: Zunyi City, Mopanshi Management Station of Dashahe Nature Reserve, at 107°61'N, 29°15'E, on pupae of Lepidoptera in soil, 26 June 2024 (holotype, GZUIFR 2024–MPS02; ex–type, GZUIFR 2024–MPS01).

Teleomorph: Stromata emerging from the pupal head, 2–10 in clusters, occasionally branched, fleshy, pale yellow to yellowish. Fertile area cylindrical to clavate, 3 –16 × 0.9–3mm. Perithecia 3 3 0–450 × 150–250 μm, semi-immersed, ovoid, yellow.Asci 70–260 × 1.7–4 μm, cylindrical to slightly clavate, hyaline, disarticulate, with a thickened apical cap. Apical cap hemispherical, 1.26–2.81 μm in height and 0.48–2.26 μm in width. Ascospores not observed. Anamorph: Synnemata arising from the pupae of Lepidoptera, gregarious, 14–54 × 2–3.5 mm, unbranched. Stipes pale yellow, cylindrical to clavate, producing a mass of conidia on the synnemata, appearing white and powdery. Colonies on PDA reaching 60–100 mm in diameter after 20 days at 21 ℃, appearing raised, white and floccose hyphae on the top side. Prolonged incubation after 30 days may result in the production of synnemata. Hyphae smooth-walled, septate, hyaline, 1–2 μm in width. Conidiophores cylindrical, hyaline, smooth-walled, predominantly slender with occasional short-stalked variants, 5.0–10.0 × 1.0–2.8 μm. Phialides solitary or verticillate, usually with a slightly swollen basal part tapering toward the apex, 5.0–8.0 μm long; basal dimensions 2.3 –3.5 × 1.2–2.0 μm; apical dimensions 1.3 – 2.7 × 0.5–1.0 μm. Conidia ovoid, occasionally elliptical, irregularly inclined, arranged in imbricate chains forming annulations at phialide apices or dispersed as solitary units, 30–6.2 × 1.5–2.8 μm.

Host: — Lepidoptera pupae.

Distribution: — China.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/039387B2D624F439FF52CB2BFE15FE5B	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
