03FE0D737044FFABFF25FF13FD80B584.taxon	description	Description. Asexual morph: Conidiomata pycnidial globose or irregular, solitary or aggregated, on MEA colony surface, white to brown, 390 – 630 μm diam, with orange translucent conidial drops exuded from the ostioles. Conidiophores hyaline, branched, reduced to conidiogenous cells, 6.5 – 12.5 × 1.2 – 2.1 μm (mean ± SD = 9.7 ± 0.4 × 1.8 ± 0.2 μm, n = 20). Conidiogenous cells enteroblastic, phialidic, subcylindrical to cylindrical, 5.5 – 7.0 × 1.5 – 2.0 μm (n = 20). Conidia emerge from the pycnidia in the orange to red gelatinous tendrils, hyaline, eguttulate, elongate-allantoid, smooth-walled, aseptate, 4.0 – 5.0 × 1.5 – 2.0 μm (mean ± SD = 4.7 ± 0.4 × 1.6 ± 0.16 μm, n = 30). Sexual morph: not observed. Culture characteristics. Colonies on PDA flat, spreading, initially white, covering the 9 cm Petri dish after 7 d. Colonies thin with a uniform texture, lacking aerial mycelium, the margin is regular, reverse white. Pycnidia irregularly distributed on the medium surface. Colonies on MEA flat, spreading, initially white, covering the 9 cm Petri dish after 7 d. Colonies thin with a uniform texture, lacking aerial mycelium, Colony center sparse, the margin is regular, reverse yellowish.	en	Zhao, Li-Li, Wang, Jia-Wen, Kong, Ting-Ting, Liu, Ai-Hua, Zhang, Ying (2025): Cytospora juglandigena sp. nov. causing walnut branch dieback in Xinjiang, China. 03FE0D737044FFABFF25FF13FD80B584.taxon	discussion	Notes. Phylogenetic analysis of a combined three gene showed that C. juglandigena formed an independent clade and was closely related to C. pseudochrysosperma (Fig. 4). Morphologically, C. juglandigena differs from C. pseudochrysosperma by its shorter conidiophores (6.5 – 12.5 vs. 13 – 25 µm) and shorter conidia (4.0 – 5.0 μm vs. 5.0 – 6.0 µm) (Lin et al. 2024). Based on nucleotide base comparison, C. juglandigena could be distinguished from C. pseudochrysosperma by base differences as follows: 2 / 507 bp for ITS (0.4 %), 9 / 726 bp for RPB 2 (1.24 %), 30 / 295 bp for tef 1 - α (10.17 %) (Lin et al. 2024).	en	Zhao, Li-Li, Wang, Jia-Wen, Kong, Ting-Ting, Liu, Ai-Hua, Zhang, Ying (2025): Cytospora juglandigena sp. nov. causing walnut branch dieback in Xinjiang, China.
