Until now, C. testaceous was known only from females, whereas C. zetteli was described based solely on the male. Since both species were collected together on the same host plant, it had been suggested that they might be conspecific (Tatarnic & Cassis 2008). In the present study, we also collected a series of both male and female specimens with identical external morphology on Macaranga tanarius . However, in the male of this species, we found that the left paramere and endosoma are similar to those of C. zetteli, whereas the right paramere differs and instead resembles that of C. sommelieri, thereby confirming that C. testaceous is distinct. In the female, the paragenital opening is absent, whereas in C. sommelieri it is clearly visible (see fig. 19A–C in Tatarnic & Cassis (2008)), which further supports the identification of this species as C. testaceous .

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03F0B5533F5DFFAD22CEC7ACFC9C78AA	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. In the present work, we identified our H. minutus specimens based on the structures of both the male and female genitalia (Linnavuori 1994; Eyles 2005) (Fig. 2B–G). Meanwhile, Tatarnic & Cassis (2012) mention of H. minutus (pp. 558 in the abstract, 607 and 614) is misleading, always referring to the junior homonym H. minutus Uhler, 1890 [a junior synonym of H. bractatus (Say, 1832) now classified within Microtechnites Berg, 1883, for which the unnecessary new name H. uhleri Girard, 1892 was published] and not to the true H. minutus Reuter, 1885 . Accordingly, in the present paper we follow Schuh (2002 –2013) and we use the name H. minutus Reuter, 1885 for the Old World species in the Halticus Hahn, 1833 .

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03F0B5533F5BFFAA22CEC581FD747C4B	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Ficus sp. ( Moraceae).

Biology. Latizanchius ficus sp. nov., was collected from Ficus sp. ( Ficeae), where other species of Zanchius were also obtained at the same time, together with numerous adults and nymphs of typhlocybids. Although the biology of Latizanchius is still unknown, it is likely that the new species is also predaceous on typhlocybids.

Distribution. Vietnam (Southern).

Etymology. Named after Ficus, the presumed host plant from which the type specimen was collected. It is treated as a noun in apposition.

Discussion. The new species, Latizanchius ficus sp. nov. can be readily distinguished from the four species currently known in the genus Latizanchius by the diagnostic characters mentioned above. Although it resembles Zanchius in many respects, it clearly exhibits the morphological characters of Latizanchius described by Liu & Zheng (2001) (e.g., body gradually widened caudadly; compound eye far from pronotum; first antennal segment long relative to head width, with lateral dark stripe; long labium, reaching abdomen; cuneus long, about 2 times as long as its basal width; and membrane with a small spot in the large cell etc.), which are rarely observed in Zanchius .

In the present study, however, we also examined additional undescribed species of Latizanchius that resemble both the new species described herein and previously described congeners. These specimens have a first antennal segment slightly shorter than head width (but still distinctly longer than vertex width and clearly longer than in Zanchius), lack a spot in the cell, and possess a labium reaching the coxae. Such characters differ from the original description of Latizanchius, suggesting that a revision of the genus is necessary and that additional species remain to be discovered in the Oriental Region.

As in Zanchius, the structure of the male genitalia in this genus is highly diverse (see also the illustrations in Liu & Zheng (2001)), and many external characters overlap with those of Zanchius . Given these similarities, it remains to be clarified whether Latizanchius represents an independent lineage or a subgroup within Zanchius, and a comprehensive phylogenetic study including both genera is necessary.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03F0B5533F54FFA222CEC581FC017C4A	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Mallotus barbatus ( Euphorbiaceae).

Distribution. Vietnam (Central).

Etymology. Named after the photographer, Mr. Paul Hopkins who accompanied the first author during the field trip and suggested the collecting site; a noun in the genitive case.

Discussion. This new species, Zanchius hopkinsi sp. nov. can be readily distinguished from a majority of other Zanchius species by the presence of dark spots and annulations on the antennae and conspicuous greenish spots on dorsum. It can easily be separated from both Z. nakatanii Yasunaga, 1999 from Japan and the recently described Z. tuehang Kim et al., 2025 from Vietnam by having only dark spots and annulations on the antennae (vs. antennae tinged with reddish and with dark annulations) and by possessing large greenish spots on the hemelytra (vs. hemelytra with more than 20 small greenish spots).

This new species is relatively close to Z. marmoratus Zou, 1987, due to similarities in antennae annulation patterns and the size and position of the greenish spots on the hemelytra, but can be clearly distinguished by the following characters: The dark spot on the lateral side of the first antennal segment postocular region, shorter of the segment and not connected with the apical spot (vs. lateral dark stripe on the first antennal segment continuous along its entire length); the short postocular region, being shorter than the maximal diameter of the first antennal segment (vs. postocular region longer than the maximal diameter of the first antennal segment); the rod-shaped and nearly straight right paramere (vs. the curved right paramere, with a small projection on the subbasal part of the hypophysis); and the endosoma bearing one spicule and three distinctly broad sclerites (vs. endosoma with two distinct curved spicules).

Zanchius hopkinsi sp. nov. is also similar in external appearance and male genitalia to Z. alatanus Hoberlandt, 1956 from Turkey, but can be distinguished by antennae with only dark annulations (vs. antennae with five reddish rings) and by the straight right paramere (vs. curved right paramere) (see p. 69–70 for the description and the key, and fig. 43a–e in Linnavuori (1994)).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03F0B5533F53FFA022CEC0DDFD8679D2	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
