Parathaia infumata Kuoh, 1982

Description. Body robust, small to medium-sized. Head narrower than pronotum; crown anterior margin subparallel to posterior, coronal suture usually distinct. Face convex in lateral view; anteclypeus oval, length interspecifically variable; lorum large. Pronotum with a pair of large triangular impressions medially. Scutellum with basal triangles dark. Forewing membranous; 3rd apical cell widest; 4th apical cell not reaching wing apex, slightly shorter than 3rd. Hind wing RA vein absent or present.

Abdominal apodemes extremely small, not reaching posterior margin of 3rd abdominal sternite.

Male genitalia. Anal tube highly sclerotized, distal half with paired sclerotized appendages; a few species with short basal secondary appendages, slightly curved ventroanteriorly, without dorsal process. Pygofer lobe sclerotized at base, membranous at apex; apex rounded or truncate, with clear boundary between basal sclerotization and apical membrane; ventral process articulated to lobe. Subgenital plate extending beyond pygofer lobe posterior margin, broad basally, tapering to apex, apex with slightly expanded vertical area; 2−5 large macrosetae in a row on outer margin, a row of rigid setae along entire length of lateral outer margin. Style apex slender; preapical lobe greatly expanded, nearly triangular. Connective lamellar; stem width variable, with distinct median carina; central lobe well-developed. Aedeagal shaft tubular, apex usually papillate; dorsal apodeme distict; preatrium long, usually with 0−1 preatrial processes; gonopore terminal.

Distribution. Oriental region (China, Thailand, Indonesia, India and Japan).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03EA0501FF82FFE1FF567996FBF4FC49	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Pronotum brownish yellow, paired triangular impressions distinct. Scutellum concolorous with pronotum, with basal triangles black (Figs A, D). Forewing brownish yellow, semitransparent; 3rd apical cell widest. Hind wing transparent, with RA vein present (Figs M, N).

Abdominal apodemes extremely small, not exceeding hind margin of 3rd sternite (Fig. E).

Male genitalia. Anal tube sclerotized, with basal appendage strong, branched apically (Fig. F). Pygofer lobe broad, with basal half sclerotized, blackish brown; distal half membranous, pale yellow; apex rounded; membranous area near caudal margin with dense microsetose. Ventral pygofer appendage with apex acute (Fig. L). Subgenital plate broad basally, medial area slightly concave and apex slightly upturned; outer margin with 3 macrosetae, apex with many rigid setae (Fig. F). Style elongate, apex tapering; preapical lobe greatly expanded (Fig. K). Connective nearly V-shaped, stem short, lateral arms slender, central lobe nearly triangular (Fig. J).
