Small to medium-sized moth with black ground color and contrasting yellow, red or orange patterns on wings. In wing patterns, Acampylotes is similar to the genus Campylotes in wing patterns but can be easily distinguished from it by the generally smaller size and the concolorous patterns on forewing (in Campylotes the patterns in the outer and inner or anterior and posterior half of forewing are different in color). In genitalia configuration, Acampylotes is most reminiscent of the genera Panherpina Bryk, 1936 (type species Herpa basiflava Oberthür, 1891, by original designation) (Figs. 90, 91, 94 & 96) and Neoherpa Tremewan, 1973 (type species Herpa venosa Walker, 1854, by monotypy) (Figs. 92, 93, 95 & 97) in both sexes, but can be distinguished by the medially membrane-connected posterior tegumenal process (posterior tegumenal processes medially connected with a sclerotised band in Panherpina and totally separated in Neoherpa), the rugose and toothed distal section of posterior tegumenal process (smooth throughout in the latter two genera), the absence of carinal process (presented in Neoherpa) on phallus and the presence of several spike-like cornuti arising from a band-like sclerotised plate articulated with phallus vesica (vesica without any cornutus in Panherpina and always with a single, much longer and larger, blade-like or spike-like cornutus in Neoherpa) in male genitalia, and the more robust, sclerotised ductus bursae without an antrum in female genitalia (ductus bursae membranous and much narrower and slenderer in Panherpina and sclerotised with an antrum in Neoherpa). From the genus Campylotes, the genitalia of both sexes of Acampylotes differ in the much larger uncus (in proportion of the whole male genitalia capsule), the medially membrane-connected posterior tegumenal process (totally separated in Campylotes), the shorter and more robust phallus with much better developed vesica and cornuti in male and the much broader ductus bursae which is generally even in width in female (ductus bursae bears a funnelshaped antrum posteriorly and abruptly narrows beyond it in Campylotes).

Description. Adults: Length of forewing 14–22 mm in males and 13–24 mm in females.Antennae bipectinate in both sexes, with rami longer in male and shorter in female. Head and thorax black, with pale yellow tegula. Forewing ground color black with various kinds of yellow patterns forming stripes or patches of different sizes. Hindwing ground color black with yellow, red or orange patterns of different shapes stretching along cells. Abdomen black or ringed with yellow or orange red. 8th tergite nearly trapezoid, with the distal margin bilobated, rounded or nearly flat. Male genitalia: Uncus well-developed, trapezoid in ventral view and distally bilobated. Subscaphium sclerotised at lateral margins. Tegumen shorter than uncus, simple, with a pair of blade-like posterior tegumenal processes which medially connected by membrane. Vinculum slender. Juxta absent. Saccus semioval or triangular. Valvae trapezoid without any process, sacculus nearly trapezoid with the internal section gradually becoming membranous, and setose around the outer margin; cucullus nearly triangular, setose on its inner surface. Phallus cylindrical and ventrally bulged, downcurved at distal one third or near the medial section with the bulbus ejaculatorius cap-like. Phallus vesica well-developed, saccate or tubular, with a series of spike-like cornuti arising from a common band-like sclerotised basal plate. Female genitalia: Ovipositor elongated and membranous, about two thirds of the length of apophyses posteriores. Apophyses posteriores about twice the length of apophyses anteriores, both strongly sclerotised. Ostium bursae rounded or oval. Ductus bursae strongly sclerotised posteriorly or thoroughly, gradually becoming membranous in certain species. Corpus bursae rounded or pyriform, membranous. Signa present or absent, paired, weakly sclerotised, sometimes enlarged and formed a weak, band-like granulation field.

Distribution: Southwest, South, West & Central China, North Myanmar.

Checklist of the genus Acampylotes

A. chenluae Huang & Horie sp. nov. Cheng-qing Liao (HUNAU) .

Diagnosis. Length of forewing 16.3 mm in male and female. Superficially, Acampylotes guianus is reminiscent of A. philomena (Oberthür, 1923) in sharing the presence of a cross vein between veins 1A+2A and CuP on forewing and the pale yellow cilia near the hindwing tornus (Figs 37 & 38), but can be distinguished from it by the smaller male, the more reddish and slightly reduced hindwing patterns, the orange red abdominal segments (yellow in A. philomena) and the narrower, triangular distal section of the 8th tergite. In male genitalia, A. guianus can be distinguished from A. philomena by the broader and shorter uncus and the broader posterior tegumenal process. From other congeners, A. guianus can be readily distinguished by the presence of red rings on abdominal segments.

Notes. The holotype of A. guianus, a female, which was stated to be deposited in the entomological collection of Beijing Agricultural University (currently China Agricultural University) (Yang et al. 1987), was actually held in the private collection of one of the authors, Chi-kun Yang, and lost after his death. In the collections of MCZ and HUNAU, we discovered a male (Fig. 1) and a female (Fig. 2), respectively, and their wing patterns as well as other details agree well with the original description and the hand drawn figure of the wings of A. guianus . Therefore they are identified as this little-known species. In order to stabilise the nomenclature, the male in the collection of MCZ is hereby designated as the neotype.

Distribution. In male genitalia, A. chenluae sp. nov. differs from A. wenhaoi sp. nov. in the somewhat narrower distal lobe of uncus, the longer posterior tegumenal process, the longer and broader phallus with larger ventral protrusion and the broader phallus vesica with larger and longer cornuti. In female genitalia, A. chenluae sp. nov. differs from A. wenhaoi sp. nov. in the much larger ostium bursae and the much broader ductus bursae. Paratypes: 3 males, same data as in holotype (CKH) .

Diagnosis. The forewing length is 16–16.5 mm in males. Acampylotes gunteri sp. nov. is only reminiscent of A. wenhaoi sp. nov. described above, and the detailed comparison has been provided in the diagnosis of the latter species. Externally, the new species is also somewhat similar to A. minima but can be distinguished by the more elongated discal cell patches, the absence of subapical and apical patches on forewing and the presence of red streak stretching along apical area on hindwing. The male genitalia of A. gunteri sp. nov. differs clearly from A. minima in the longer uncus, the longer posterior tegumenal process, the shorter phallus vesica and the narrower cornuti on phallus vesica which also less in number.

The female is unknown.

Etymology. The new species is named after Dr Günter C. Müller, a good friend of the first author. The name is a noun in the genitive case.

Distribution. The forewing length is 14–15 mm in males and 13–14 mm in females. Morphologically, Acampylotes stellata sp. nov. is most reminiscent of A. uedai sp. nov. described below but can be distinguished by the smaller patches in discal cell and medial area on forewing, the smaller orange red patches on hindwing and the totally black cilia of hindwing (pale orange in A. uedai sp. nov.) in male. The female genitalia of A. stellata sp. nov. is characterised by the S-like elongated and more membranous anterior section of ductus bursae (occupying about three forth of the full length of ductus bursae) as well as the rounded and weakly sclerotised signa on corpus bursae.

Etymology.
