(Figs. a–g)

Type material. Holotype: male, Lazhi, Xizang, 1975-VI-21, collected by Du Qing.

Male. Body medium in size. Length of head obviously shorter than pronotum. Vertex short and broad, lateral margins distinct. Frons upright from lateral view, frontal ridge slightly broad between antennae, constricted just below median occilus, and not reaching to clypeus downward. Antennae filiform, not reaching posterior margin of pronotum, length of a middle segment 2.0 times width. Foveolae slightly distinct, triangle. Eyes oval, vertical diameter 1.5 times horizontal diameter, and 1.1 times subocular groove. Median carina of pronotum thin, distinct in prozona and low in metazona, obviously incised by hind sulcus, metazona about 2 times longer than prozona, lateral keels of pronotum slightly displayed on metazona. Pronotum with dense short carinae, anterior margin protruding in the middle, posterior margin almost rightangular. Prosternum appreciably swelled. Both elytra and hindwings developed, almost extending to end of hind tibia, R vein of elytra with 5 branches, M vein with a branch and Cub vein with two branches, intercalary vein in medial area of elytra irregular and very weak. Main longitudinal veins of hindwings obviously thickened in basal half. Minimun width of interspace between mesosternal lobes 1.3 times its length. Hind femur dumpy, length 3.8 times maximal width, upper basal lobi longer than down basal lobi, dorsal carina wholly smooth, lower knee lobes of inner side tilted. Outer side of hind tibia with 10 spines, and the inner side with 11 spines, outer apical spine absent. Arolium between claws not reaching to the middle of claws. Tympanal organ developed, tympanic flap small, only covering very small portion of tympanic cavity. Cerci long cylindrical. Supra-anal plate triangular. Subgenital plate brevi-conic, apex blunt.

Coloration: Body brown. Basal quarter of elytra darkish. Base of hindwings red except darker pre-anal area, dark fascia in the middle of hindwings narrow and discontinuous. Hind femur with a large black fascia on inner side and with two dark bands on upper side. Hind tibia orange red. Tarsus yellow.

Measurement: Length of body: ♂ 26.8 mm. Length of elytra: ♂ 30.4 mm. Length of hind femur: ♂ 14.6 mm.

Female unknown.

The new species is allied to Bryodemella (s. str.) holdereri (Krauss, 1901), but it differs from the latter in four characters (see table 1).

Etymology: The specific epithet is named after Prof. Du Qing for commemorating his help in collecting the type specimen.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03E387C9FF8A007C28E3FBAAD10EFDE6	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
