General color brown, with black markings on head and thorax. Head brownish with a pentagonal reddish median marking between central M-line and clypeus; a triangular dark marking in ocellar triangle connects to rectangular reddish marking on each side, which extends to central occiput. Triocellate, anterior ocellus much smaller, distance between posterior ocellus and inner margin of compound eye ca. 1.5X as wide as distance between posterior ocelli. Antennae brown and palpi paler. Pronotum transversely elliptical, median portion with rectangular dark marking and rugosities, lateral margins pale yellow. Legs brown throughout except with pale markings on broadest surfaces of femora. Wings opaque brown with pale intercostal area. Abdomen brownish; cerci pale yellow.

Male (Figs. 1c–1e, 2). Forewing length ca. 17.6 mm. Tergum 10 depressed posteriorly, with a pair of posterolateral lower knobs bearing dense sensilla basiconica, laterally to large rectangular sensilla basiconica patches separated by a longitudinal median strip (Fig. 1c). Paraprocts strongly curved forward, triangular, flattened, medial surface strongly convex, apex pointing laterad; outer portion sclerotized, covered with dense bristles, inner portion membranous (Figs. 1c, 1e). Hammer paler, transversely elliptical, covered by indistinct granules, slightly elevated in lateral view (Figs. 1d–1e). Aedeagus membranous, generally tubular, slightly constricted at midlength, basal half cylindrical, apically swollen; in dorsal view, apical median portion with triangular shape covered with fine spinules and appearing wrinkled, and bears two pairs of lateral lobes, dorsolateral lobes (dl) robust connecting with smaller apical lateral lobes (all) (Fig. 2a); in ventral view, median portion bears a knob-shaped ventral lobe (vl), apex with an apical median lobe (aml) (Figs. 2b–2d).

Female. The specific name refers to the type locality, Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve.

Remarks. The new species is most similar to Hemacroneuria kondratieffi Li, Murányi & Li, 2022 in color patterns of head and pronotum and the general structure of aedeagus, but can be distinguished by the transversely elliptical hammer, the strongly convex inner margin of paraprocts and two pairs of aedeagal lateral lobes. In contrast, H. kondratieffi possesses a generally rounded hammer, thinner paraprocts with slightly convex at inner margin, and more slender dorsolateral lobes of aedeagus. Moreover, terga 1–4 of H. kondratieffi are mostly pale with dark lateral margins, whereas those of the new species are uniformly brownish (see figs. 1–2 in Li, Murányi & Li, 2022).

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03E3878CFF8EFFAA74D182BC9D74FA82	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply. Aedeagus membranous, tubular in shape, basal half cylindrical, covered with brown spinules; in ventral view, a button-shaped ventral lobe (vl) arises at the midlength of aedeagus; subapical portion bears two pairs of lateral lobes, each basolateral lobe (bll) connects with a apical lateral lobe (all); apex expands to an apical lobe (al) with several shallow notches and wrinkles (Figs. 4a–4d).

Examined material. 2 males and 1 female (HIST), China, Shaanxi Province, Xi’an City, Zhouzhi County, Gengyu, 34°1′19.32″ N, 108°25′29.06″ E, 693 m, 2025.V.27, leg. Xin Lu.

Distribution. China (Henan and Shaanxi provinces).

Remarks. The male holotype of Hemacroneuria baotianmana Chen & Hou, 2020 was collected in Henan Province, while the paratypes (four females) were collected in Shaanxi Province. Although the specimens of both sexes share consistent overall pigmentation, the two collection sites are approximately 300 km apart. All our specimens of both sexes were collected in Shaanxi Province. The overall coloration, paraprocts, sensilla basiconica patches on tergum 10 and the shape of subgenital plate of our specimens all agree well with the original descriptions by Chen & Hou (2020) (comparing figs. 2–6 in Chen & Hou 2020 and Figs. 3–5), especially the lobes of the partially extruded aedeagus. This constitutes new evidence for the conspecificity of the two sexes. Additionally, we provide a more detailed structure of the aedeagus to facilitate the identification of this species.

The detailed aedeagus structure closely resembles that of H. kondratieffi Li, Murányi & Li, 2022 . In contrast to H. baotianmana, the dorsolateral lobe in H. kondratieffi is elongate and dorsally oriented.

https://treatment.plazi.org/id/03E3878CFF89FFAB74D182F19CAAFF5B	Public Domain	No known copyright restrictions apply.
