Three apterous viviparous females with the code K- 23 - 83 sampled on 23 rd of June, 2023 have longer SIPH (0.315 – 0.343 mm), than in those (18 specimens) with the code K- 24 - 18.07 - 2 sampled on 18 th of July, 2024 (0.153 – 0.231 mm) and they have different SIPH L / cauda L ratio: 1.62 – 1.71 in apterae with the code K- 23 - 83 (Fig. 3), while 0.90 – 1.21 those with the code K- 24 - 18.07 - 2 (Figs 2, 5). Based on other morphological characteristics it is clear that we have one species, but we have different SIPH L / cauda L ratio in apterae from two samples, possibly caused by environmental factors such as temperature.	en	Kök, Şahin, Barjadze, Shalva (2025): A new species of Aphis Linnaeus, 1758 (Hemiptera: Aphididae) from northwestern Türkiye. 03DB87F2292CFFABFF4B4225A92E1BAC.taxon	diagnosis	Differential diagnosis. There are two aphid species with distinctly pigmented abdomen anterior to SIPH in the subgenus Bursaphis: A. kazdagensis Kök & Barjadze in Kök et al. and A. argentina Nieto Nafría, Ortego & Mier Durante (Nafría et al. 2021; Kök et al. 2024). Apterous viviparous females of Aphis dardanelliensis sp. nov. are distinguished from the same morph of A. argentina by (1) length of posterior setae on middle trochanter / diameter of trochantro-femoral suture ratio: 1.27 – 1.55 in the new species, while 0.60 – 1.20 in A. argentina; (2) number of caudal setae: 15 – 21 in the new species, while 7 – 11 in A. argentina (Nafría et al. 2021). Apterous viviparous females of Aphis dardanelliensis sp. nov. are distinguished from the same morph of A. kazdagensis by (1) MSL on ANT III / ANT III BD ratio: 1.38 – 2.27 in the new species, while 0.37 – 0.58 in A. kazdagensis; (2) MSL on ABD TERG VIII / ANT III BD: 1.26 – 2.85 in the new species, while 0.70 – 1.00 in A. kazdagensis (Kök et al. 2024). Until now, the following species from the genus Aphis were reported on Valeriana spp.: Aphis fabae Scopoli, A. gossypii Glover, A. patriniae Takahashi, A. patvaliphaga Pashtshenko, A. pseudovalerianae Gillette & Palmer, A. sambuci Linnaeus, A. solanella Theobald, A. spiraecola Patch, A. spiraephaga Müller and A. valerianae Cowen (Holman 2009; Favret & Aphid Taxon Community 2025). Aphis dardanelliensis sp. nov., A. pseudovalerianae and A. valerianae have more than 3 (4 – 5) accessory setae on URS (Palmer 1952; Favret & Aphid Taxon Community 2025). The new species clearly differs from the above mentioned two North American species in some characters. Apterous viviparous females of the new species are distinguished from those of A. pseudovalerianae and A. valerianae by (1) pigmentation of ANT I – VI: ANT III – IV pale, or ANT III and most length of ANT IV pale except for dusky apices in the new species, while all antennal segments are uniformly pigmented in A. pseudovalerianae and A. valerianae (Palmer 1952; Favret & Aphid Taxon Community 2025); (2) Presence / absence MTu on ABD TERG II – IV: present in the new species, while absent in A. pseudovalerianae and A. valerianae (Palmer 1952; Andrew S. Jensen, personal communication). Besides, apterous viviparous females of the new species are distinguished from those of A. pseudovalerianae by presence / absence of setae on SIPH: absent in the new species, while 1 – 4 setae present in A. pseudovalerianae (Palmer 1952; Favret & Aphid Taxon Community 2025). Apterous viviparous females of the new species are distinguished from those of A. valerianae by (1) PT / ANT VI b ratio: 2.48 – 3.08 in the new species, while 1.7 – 1.9 in A. valerianae (Palmer 1952; Favret & Aphid Taxon Community 2025). Aphis dardanelliensis sp. nov. is clearly different from the above-mentioned following species: A. fabae Scopoli, A. gossypii Glover, A. patriniae Takahashi, A. patvaliphaga Pashtshenko, A. sambuci Linnaeus, A. solanella Theobald, A. spiraecola Patch and A. spiraephaga Müller by the number of accessory setae on URS: mostly 4 or rarely 3 or 5 accessory setae in the new species, while mostly 2 and rarely 3 accessory setae in all above-mentioned species (Heie 1986; Pashtshenko 1994). The following Aphis species with regularly developed marginal tubercles on ABD TERG II – IV, live on plant species belonged in the past or belonging at present to the family Caprifoliaceae: Aphis cephalariae Barjadze, A. horii Takahashi, A. lantanae coriaria Börner, A. longini Huculak, A. patriniae Takahashi, A. patrinicola Holman, A. sambuci Linnaeus and Aphis viburni Scopoli (Huculak 1968; Heie 1986; Holman 1987; Nieto Nafria et al. 2005; Barjadze 2011). Morphological differences among all Caprifoliaceae- and Viburnaceae-feeding Aphis spp. with regularly developed marginal tubercles on ABD TERG II – IV are given in the identification key. An identification key for Valeriana alliariifolia - feeding aphids based on apterous viviparous females, including Aphis fabae Scopoli, Macrosiphum centranthi Theobald and M. cholodkovskyi (Mordvilko), is provided below.	en	Kök, Şahin, Barjadze, Shalva (2025): A new species of Aphis Linnaeus, 1758 (Hemiptera: Aphididae) from northwestern Türkiye.
