03DAC36EFF97FFB71CD7FF747ACBFC49.taxon	materials_examined	Material examined. Armenia: 1 ♀, Syunik Province, environs Alvank village, 38.9181 ° N 46.3394 ° E, 480 m, 1 – 8. VI. 2024, freezing light trap, local collector. The specimen was identified to species based on the shape and coloration of metope (frons) and coryphe (vertex) and coloration of fore wings (Figs 2 – 4) using the monograph on the genus by Asche (2015) as well as the material for comparison available in the collection of the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Saint Petersburg, Russia). During the 2024 fieldwork campaign, freezing light traps were deployed at several Armenian localities. This effort resulted in the capture and identification of Cixidia mersinica in the village of Alvank, located in Syunik Province which is located on the southern arid slopes of the Meghri Ridge, extending between the southern foothills and the Arax River. The climate of this area is characterized as dry subtropical (Bagdasaryan 1956). The zonal vegetation is composed of mountain phrygana, consisting of maquis shrublands, with Quercus araxina (Trautv.) Grossh. and Q. macranthera Fisch. & C. A. Mey. ex Hohen etc., interspersed with pseudomaquis — a plant community representative of the dry subtropical zone of southern Caucasus. The village is also surrounded by cultivated orchards, which contribute to local habitat heterogeneity, while dense reed beds (Phragmites spp.) lining the banks of the Arax River provide additional riparian vegetation corridors. These ecological features — ranging from xerophytic shrublands to riverside environments — create a complex of mosaic microhabitats that likely support a rich and varied entomofauna. First record of the family Achilidae and the genus Cixidia Fieber, 1866 from Syunik Province revealed importance of this region for further investigation and documentation of Armenian Auchenorrhyncha.	en	Mazmanyan, Meri A., Gnezdilov, Vladimir M., Neimorovets, Vladimir V.
