03D187CDFFFCFF83FF5E89C9A806F864.taxon	description	Sexual dimorphism: In E. festiva, sexual differences are pronounced, especially in body size and coloration (Figs. 1, 2). Males are consistently smaller than females, with total body length (apex of head to apex of forewing) ranging from 5.82 – 6.02 (n = 4, average = 5.9, SD = 0.13). Other male measurements include, head-to-abdomen apex length 3.20 – 3.33 (n = 2, average = 3.26, SD = 0.09); head length 0.58 – 0.90 (n = 4, average = 0.8, SD = 0.15), head width 1.92 – 1.95 (n = 4, average = 1.93, SD = 0.02); inter-ocellar distance 0.38 – 0.48 (n = 4, average = 0.44, SD = 0.04); pronotum length 5.44 – 5.50 (n = 4, average = 5.46, SD = 0.03); distance between the apices of the suprahumeral process lateral branches 2.75 – 3.20 (n = 4, average = 3.05, SD = 0.2); distance between medial process apices 0.58 (n = 4, average = 0.58); and distance between the apices of posterior process lateral branches 2.43 – 2.88 (n = 4, average = 2.7, SD = 0.2). Females are larger, with total body length 6.14 – 7.42 (n = 6, average = 6.74, SD = 0.48), and exhibit the following measurements, head-to-abdomen apex length 4.35 – 4.93 (n = 6, average = 4.73, SD = 0.23); head length 0.64 – 0.90 (n = 6, average = 0.74, SD = 0.11), head width 1.38 – 2.18 (n = 6, average = 2.02, SD = 0.31); inter-ocellar distance 0.45 – 0.51 (n = 6, average = 0.47, SD = 0.04); pronotum length 5.82 – 6.27 (n = 6, average = 6.09, SD = 0.16); distance between the apices of the suprahumeral process lateral branches 3.39 – 3.84 (n = 4, average = 3.55, SD = 0.2); distance between medial process apices 0.58 – 0.77 (n = 6, average = 0.67, SD = 0.09); and distance between the apices of posterior process lateral branches 2.88 – 3.46 (n = 6, average = 3.23, SD = 0.2). In general, females are larger than males, with the pronotal prolongations more separated. In addition to size differences, males display a lighter overall coloration than females, being pale orange-yellow and females crimson red, although the general pattern is identical between sexes (Figs. 1, 2). No further variation in coloration or pattern was observed. Male genitalia: The aedeagus is cylindrical, conforming to the general pattern of the genus. In ventral view (Fig. 3 A), the apex bears a pair of large, elongated subapical spines on each side, each with a serrated preapical margin. In the lateral view (Fig. 3 B), the aedeagus is slightly curved, with the apex directed upward and caudally. The base of the distal spinose region bears prominent caudal triangular denticles. The styles are symmetrical and robust, with the apex forming an outward-directed hook, bearing four basal and two apical stout setae.	en	Forero, Dimitri, Rodríguez-Serrano, Juanita (2026): Description of the male of Eucyphonia festiva (Hemiptera: Membracidae) and a reassessment of the distribution of the species. 03D187CDFFFCFF83FF5E89C9A806F864.taxon	biology_ecology	Plant associations: Among the examined material, documented plant associations show that there are two single records, one with an unidentified species of the order Zingiberales and one with an unidentified Piper species (Piperaceae). Seven specimens from the same collection event are associated with an unidentified Melastomataceae, and an additional specimen from another collection event is also associated with an unidentified Melastomataceae. One of the specimens from Santa María was collected in a van Someren-Rydon trap baited with rotten fruit.	en	Forero, Dimitri, Rodríguez-Serrano, Juanita (2026): Description of the male of Eucyphonia festiva (Hemiptera: Membracidae) and a reassessment of the distribution of the species. 03D187CDFFFCFF83FF5E89C9A806F864.taxon	distribution	Distribution: Eucyphonia festiva was previously recorded from the Department of Boyacá, and it is here newly recorded from Casanare, Cundinamarca, and Meta in Colombia (Fig. 4), from 400 to 1,300 meters of altitude, although there are few specimens from an unspecified locality in Meta collected at 238 meters. All Colombian localities are found in the piedmont of the Eastern Cordillera. A single female specimen indicates its provenance as from “ Brazil ”, without additional data, but probably corresponding to an Amazonian locality, representing a new country record for E. festiva.	en	Forero, Dimitri, Rodríguez-Serrano, Juanita (2026): Description of the male of Eucyphonia festiva (Hemiptera: Membracidae) and a reassessment of the distribution of the species.
