03D087EFFFB3FF8BFF3BFF2F8A1D1327.taxon	discussion	Note. Capila Moore, 1866 was established as a monotypic genus based on C. jayadeva as the type species. In the original description, Moore (1866) stated that ‘ (in both sexes of Capila) hind tibiae with a dense tuft of very long hairs at the side’. Nicéville (1893) pointed out that the dense hair tuft is a male secondary sexual character, and he believed that Moore (1866) misidentified the male of Pisola zennara (= Capila zennara) as the female of C. jayadeva while the female of C. jayadeva as the male of P. zennara. Swinhoe (1912) followed Nicéville’s idea and provided images of both sexes of the two species. Seitz (1922, pl. 163 C) also presented figures of jayadeva (misspelled as jajadeva) and zennara, but Evans (1949: 87) noted ‘ Seitz as jayadeva ’ for zennara and ‘ figs in Seitz are zennara ’ for jayadeva in his work, meaning that he considered the figure of jayadeva in Seitz as zennara. This is rather confusing, because judging from the characters shown in Seitz (1922, pl. 163 C) the figure of ‘ jajadeva ’ undoubtedly belongs to a male of jayadeva rather than zennara. Since the wing patterns of the male and female are quite different, it is not clear with what evidence Nicéville (1893) and Swinhoe (1912) determined the sex-pairing of the two species, and until now, no proof, such as mating observation or rearing record supporting the sex-pairing has been produced. In the present paper, the female of jayadeva was confirmed by the COI gene sequences, and both imagoes and genitalia of both sexes of this taxon were illustrated. However, the lectotype designation and sex-pairing of zennara require further study.	en	Xue, Guo-Xi, Inayoshi, Yutaka, Saito, Kotaro, Li, Meng, Rao, Zhi (2026): Capila jayadeva Moore, 1866 is a sexually dimorphic and male polymorphic species including six subspecies (Hesperiidae, Pyrginae). 03D087EFFFB4FF8CFF3BFBB28A1F1033.taxon	discussion	Note. Judging from the male specimens of mackwoodi examined in this study, the size of the white spot at cell end on the forewing is variable: in northern Thailand (Fang district of Chiang Mai and Pua district of Nan) the spot is always well developed, while in the areas from north-western to western Thailand, namely from Mae Hong Son and around Chiang Mai City (Chiang Mai district to Wiang Pa Pao district of Chiang Rai), through Omkoi district of Chiang Mai to Kanchanaburi, the spot is smaller, exhibiting a trend towards the unmarked peninsular ssp. arooni.	en	Xue, Guo-Xi, Inayoshi, Yutaka, Saito, Kotaro, Li, Meng, Rao, Zhi (2026): Capila jayadeva Moore, 1866 is a sexually dimorphic and male polymorphic species including six subspecies (Hesperiidae, Pyrginae). 03D087EFFFB4FF8CFF3BFF2F8B1615DF.taxon	discussion	Note. Although the females of translucida and jayadeva have similar wing patterns, it is hard to imagine the two taxa are conspecific because their males bear obviously different appearances. However, the COI gene sequences revealed that they belong to the same species, and the morphological characters of the genitalia of both sexes (Fig. 4; Fig. 8: A – C; Xue et al. 2024 a: fig. 2, fig. 3) support this result. Since the two taxa are allopatric and jayadeva has the priority, translucida is treated as a subspecies of jayadeva. Evans (1949: 87) recorded the year of publication as 1894 for translucida, and subsequent authors followed this record. However, according to the original literature, the ‘ Part V. Hesperiidae. Pages 557 – 642 ’ of Leech’s work was published in December, 1893. Therefore, we herein made a correction.	en	Xue, Guo-Xi, Inayoshi, Yutaka, Saito, Kotaro, Li, Meng, Rao, Zhi (2026): Capila jayadeva Moore, 1866 is a sexually dimorphic and male polymorphic species including six subspecies (Hesperiidae, Pyrginae). 03D087EFFFB4FF8DFF3BF91E8AA41113.taxon	discussion	Note. This taxon was treated as a synonym of Capila mackwoodi by Godfrey (1930: 357), and then as a synonym of C. hainana hainana by Evans (1949: 88). The former is now a subspecies of C. jayadeva, while the latter is a synonym of translucida (Xue et al. 2024 a) which is a subspecies of C. jayadeva as well. The male of barroni is similar to that of mackwoodi, bearing a white spot at cell end of the forewing, but it can be distinguished from mackwoodi by the darker ground color on both sides of the wings. Therefore, barroni is treated as a subspecies of C. jayadeva herein.	en	Xue, Guo-Xi, Inayoshi, Yutaka, Saito, Kotaro, Li, Meng, Rao, Zhi (2026): Capila jayadeva Moore, 1866 is a sexually dimorphic and male polymorphic species including six subspecies (Hesperiidae, Pyrginae). 03D087EFFFB9FF81FF3BFF2F8CF9141C.taxon	discussion	Note. Among the subspecies of jayadeva, this taxon bears the most similar wing pattern to the nominate subspecies, and geographically it is the closest to the latter. One male of the examined specimens of ssp. jayadeva in the present study was collected from Sekong Province of Laos, near the type locality of khambounei. According to Uehara & Masui (2024), the following characters of khambounei can be used to distinguish the taxon from the nominate subspecies: in the male, the ground color on the dorsal side of both wings is lighter, the streaks between the veins are less distinct, the distal ends of the upper and middle streaks in the cell of the forewing are expanded or even conjoined into one spot; in the female, the black stripes on the dorsal side of the hindwing are less distinct.	en	Xue, Guo-Xi, Inayoshi, Yutaka, Saito, Kotaro, Li, Meng, Rao, Zhi (2026): Capila jayadeva Moore, 1866 is a sexually dimorphic and male polymorphic species including six subspecies (Hesperiidae, Pyrginae).
