03C81A4FFF8DFF87FF2FFA88FDA1BCC9.taxon	diagnosis	Diagnosis. Sipyloidea brachyptera sp. nov. is similar to S. chlorotica (Audinet-Serville, 1838), but can be distinguished by differences in body size, hindwing length, and egg characteristics. S. brachyptera sp. nov. is smaller in size (76.0 – 108.0 mm in S. chlorotica (Seow-Choen 2023); 70.2 – 78.6 mm in S. brachyptera), with shorter hindwings that extend only to the third abdominal segment (Fig. 2 I). Additionally, the eggs of S. brachyptera sp. nov. bear longer spinose setae than those of S. chlorotica.	en	Wang, Zi-Zhao, Zhu, Zi-Hao, Wang, Xing-Min (2026): Morphological and molecular evidence reveals a new species of Sipyloidea (Phasmatodea: Lonchodidae: Necrosciinae: Necrosciini) from Yunnan Province, China. Pronotum rectangular, shorter than the head, with a distinct medio-transverse sulcus and an indistinct longitudinal sulcus (Fig. 2 D). Lateral margins of the pronotum with brown longitudinal stripes. Mesonotum surface densely covered with minute granules, with an indistinct medio-longitudinal carina and distinct lateral carinae. Mesonotum longer than the combined length of the pronotum, metanotum, and median segment. Mesopleurae, metapleurae, mesosternum and metasternum densely covered with minute granules (Fig. 2 A – E). Abdomen. Cylindrical and smooth, tapering posteriorly. Tergites II to V equal in length. Tergite VI slightly shorter than tergite V. Tergites VI to IX progressively decreasing in length. Seventh sternum lacking noticeable praeopercular organ. Anal segment longer than tergite IX, as long as tergite VIII, with a pointed and decurved posterior margin (Fig. 2 F – H). Supra-anal plate absent. Subgenital plate scoop-shaped, covered with short bristles, posterior apex not exceeding the anal segment, posterior margin pointed (Fig. 2 G, H). Cerci straight and long, densely covered with bristles, laterally compressed, with blunt-rounded apices, widely exceeding the posterior margin of the anal segment (Fig. 2 F – H). Legs. Slender and long, unarmed, densely covered with short bristles. Legs with dark mottling. Profemora curved basally. Forelegs as long as hind legs, both longer than the abdomen. Mid legs shorter than the abdomen. Mesofemora as long as mesonotum. All femora as long as corresponding tibiae. Wings.
