Locations were chosen to be geographically distinct (Fig. 1), the farthest distance was 162 km, from Pūre to Pārgauja, the nearest distance – 92 km. Plantations of black currants were 7-10 years old, shoots visually damaged by clearwing moth were collected. Shoots were cut along, larvae were removed from damage, and preserved in 96% alchocol at 5 °C until needed.
