Subgenus Trichocalathus Bolívar y Pieltain, 1940

Third antennomere without pubescence. Mentum tooth bifid. Pronotal laterobasal seta situated at margin, removed from side margin or absent. Lateral bead of prosternal process present. Parascutellar seta present or absent. Elytra glabrous or with scarse pilosity in apical half, with 4-5 discal setae in the third interval; discal setae absent in the fifth and seventh intervals. Elytral microsculpture nearly isodiametric. Metepisternum short. Male protarsomeres dilated or not. Lateral grooves present on metatarsomeres I-IV. Apical gonocoxite short, robust, with two ensiform setae at external margin; sensory pit of apical gonocoxite well developed. Aedeagus left side up in repose; median lobe apical disc absent; apical hook of long paramere absent; membranous lobe of short paramere present.
