Remark. Images of the holotype (MCZ: Type 9637) are available on MCZ Type Database Site. It doubtlessly belongs to the genus Parascela , because of its setose head and pronotum and tuberculate elytra with confused puncturation. We transfer this species to the genus Parascela . It is the first species of the genus Parascela from Sri Lanka. The differences from other species of Parascela are given in the key below.
