is based on a partial skeleton of a mediumsized (4–5 m long) primitive tyrannosauroid from the Wessex Formation of the Isle of Wight ( figs. 5.8, 5.25; Hutt et al. 2001). Compared with those of Tyrannosauridae , the forelimbs and particularly the manus are long and well developed. As in Dryptosaurus , metatarsal III is not preserved, so it is not clear whether this taxon possessed an arctometatarsus. The humerus of Eotyrannus shows complex internal chambers (Hutt et al. 2001; Naish et al. 2001).
