( Figs. 16 View FIGURES 9 – 16 , 39 View FIGURES 33 – 40 )
Type material. Holotype, 3, China: Li-kiang (27°23' N, 100°11' E), Prov. Nord-Yeunnan, ca. 3000 m, 18.6.1934. H. Höne, genitalia slide no. 91/08 ( ZFMK).
Description. Adult ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 9 – 16 ): Wingspan 12.5 mm. Head, thorax and tegula covered with light grey, brown-tipped scales, frons off-white. Labial palpus recurved, brown mottled grey; segment 3 with white medial and apical rings. Forewing light grey, mottled black, especially along costal margin; two small black spots at base of cell, indistinct black dot at corner of cell; diffused ochreous spot at one-third. Hindwing light grey.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 39 View FIGURES 33 – 40 ): Uncus sub-rectangular. Gnathos short, weakly curved. Tegumen widened basally, narrowed distally. Valva narrow, weakly curved, distinctly dilated distally, not extending to top of uncus. Sacculus slender, about one-third length of valva, fused basely with vinculum processes, pointed and slightly curved inwards apically. Paired processes on posterior margin of vinculum short, pointed distally; medial excision deep and very narrow. Saccus short. Aedeagus comparatively long, basal part bulbous, distal portion slender, with distinct apical cornutus.
Female: Unknown.
Diagnosis. Scrobipalpa hoenei sp. n. is similar externally to many other Scrobipalpa -species by having three typical black spots in the cell. The male genitalia are characterized by the slender sacculus fused with the vinculum processes, resembling in general those of S. hyoscyamella (Stainton, 1869) .
Biology. Host-plant unknown. The holotype was collected in June at 3000 m altitude.
Distribution. China (Yunnan).
Etymology. The species is named after H. Höne who collected the holotype.
